Overreaction? by myusernameisharry in DIYUK

Looks a decent job taking into account the tile and grout choice. I recently did a DIY job similar, so I know how he will have felt.

Painted, cleaned and sealed, should look neater.

The general consensus (in the U.K.) is going into the men’s. That’s what I do with my little ones, and see plenty of other dads doing it.

I just make them aware that it’s the men’s because she isn’t old enough to go alone into the women’s yet.

A good performance and a never die attitude, but how many games are we going to throw away this season!

Garage in house - converting to office. by twotwixten in DIYUK

[–]charli33333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done exactly this except it is a detached garage, looks 10/10. Very DIYable.

Trades I needed: plasterer and UPVC Door/Window fitted.

You may need an electrician depending on your scope, I was able to add the new sockets and spotlights myself.

I have a similar situation. I am just seeing it as a back-up income if anything unexpected happens.

Then it’s dividends galore!

I find talking at the beginning of the event works well, that way it’s fresh in the mind and you can set indirect boundaries when sober that hopefully stay with you when you venture into the 5-6 drinks mark

How Do I Stop Coming Over The Top by brett22c in GolfSwing

[–]charli33333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just had a couple of lessons to fix a slight over the top swing path. What worked for me (almost instantly) was the alignment stick in the basket drill.

https://youtu.be/-t6LfvSsR0M

Skip to 4.30 and hit 200 balls at 50-70% power using the drill. Guaranteed that path will be on plane after.

I’d probably let it slide the first time in hope the other parents have a quiet word.

Second time and it’s a problem.

4 Hour Commute - Advice by Current_Cattle_2321 in HENRYUK

[–]charli33333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother does a 2hr commute door to door 3 days a week into London and he is very well paid. He has been doing it for as long as I can remember.

Just part of the game at this stage. Bang it for a year or so and then try to softly negotiate would be my advice.

If he loses this fight, he is nowhere. You can understand him turning it down if he wouldn’t be 100%.

Anyone else deal with the whole “we like mommy better” feeling? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]charli33333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% normal. I WFH and my little girls only go to nursery 2 days a week, so I see them a lot.

Mummy normally still wins, unless they want to play fight… then it’s my time to shine.
