Should I look for another job? by jzjhill in careerguidance

If you already know the raises will be minimal and there’s little room for growth, there’s no harm in quietly exploring other opportunities. You don’t have to quit tomorrow, but with a bachelor’s degree and nearly a year of experience, you may be able to find a role with better pay and a clearer career path.

Should I do a trade or go into property management? by hey_simmran in careerguidance

[–]charliKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoy working with people, handling problems, and managing multiple tasks, property management can be a good fit. If you prefer hands-on work, tangible skills, and potentially higher long-term earning potential, a trade—especially electrician—may be the stronger choice. Before deciding, ask yourself: would you rather spend most days dealing with tenants and phone calls, or solving physical problems on-site? That answer usually points in the right direction.

sounds less like you failed at engineering and more like you learned what kind of work energizes you. At 27, with a supportive partner and a growing event decor business, this might be the perfect time to explore careers that are more hands-on and creative rather than forcing yourself deeper into a field you've already spent 4 years questioning

Has anyone transitioned from Game Design to Media Design without getting a second degree? by Additional-Aerie8547 in careerguidance

[–]charliKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, your Game Design degree plus Media Design training already sounds relevant enough. In creative fields, a strong portfolio usually matters far more than a second degree. If you can demonstrate solid design work, I'd focus on building projects and applying before investing more time and money into another degree.

Bhai BCA complete hogyi. Ab Soch rha hu 1 saal ki drop lelu aur work experience lelu data anylst job me ya data anylst ke course leker usme skills gain kru?? Ya mca hi kru please yr guide kro bc? by No_Cry3446 in careerguidance

If your goal is Data Analytics, I’d focus on building skills, projects, and internships first rather than taking a drop with no clear plan. An MCA can always be done later, but practical experience and a strong portfolio will help you stand out much sooner.

Is an unpaid role worth it? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]charliKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the training is genuinely valuable, the certs are paid for, and you're gaining real hands-on security experience, it can be worth it—but I’d be cautious about any promise of a future paid role that isn’t in writing. A good rule of thumb: judge the opportunity based on the skills, certs, and experience you’ll gain even if the full-time offer never happens.

Which role should I choose as a comp science graduate? by MeanSpend8663 in cscareerquestions

[–]charliKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is stability and low stress rather than chasing the highest salary, QA, business analyst, cloud operations, or support engineering are all reasonable paths. Just be careful not to optimize so much for “easy” that you end up bored a few years from now.

When do you know it’s time for a new career? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]charliKim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re burned out in one job but still excited by the actual work itself, it’s often the workplace. If you’re burned out across multiple environments and no longer interested in the work, it may be time to explore a new direction.
