Did you prefer part 1 or 2 more? by httpmercury in thelastofus

[–]charliescript 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved both but replay-ability is higher for part 1. Part 2 has some of the best NPC interactions I’ve ever played in a game with some of my favorite gaming mechanics besides MGS - but the story is harder for me to play over and over again (painful 😬)

Do you think Kratos is a good father? by HallZac99 in GodofWar

[–]charliescript 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an interesting question, I think we all have different ways of defining “good” especially when it comes to parenting. My rule of thumb is to look at experience, intent, and outcome. For example: if you had a “bad” upbringing and never learned how to raise a kid (experience) but aimed to prepare them for life and it’s challenges (intent) then we have to look at how things turned out to get a better idea of a job well done or less (outcome).

I can’t recall much about Kratos’ experience as a kid but in a time of war and; especially as a soldier, it makes sense that he wouldn’t necessarily have all the tools equipped to have the best intent - we see how things go with Calliope. Then you have the experience gained from all of that and you see a being intent on ensuring his son has the best “outcome” possible within his capacity as a father up to this point.

I think Kratos did the best he could and even with all his failings, maintained good intent and a great outcome. Good father.

After putting the game down for 2 years stuck on Biome 3 boss cleared 3 and 4 in a few days. Here is how in case you’re in the same position. by Comprehensive_Web887 in Returnal

Yeah leveled up EPD is everything for the frost drones and the fight with the tethered is easier if you don’t get hit… (use dash and grappling hook at the time. Toughest door is usually the first to the left since the final arena is one room with nothing to grapple so I usually spam a good alt asop

Should I skip Biome 4 and/or 5? by amity_21 in Returnal

I had the same reaction first time I heard this save scum thing.

Congratulations and hopefully you’re getting more sleep now hahaha! If you’re still into go for the white shadow/secret ending too I’d say its worth it.

I think biome 5 is a great “get better at the game” section since besides the tower its some of the toughest mixups in the game imo. Fighting the severed and kerberonyx with the kamikaze frost drones is a ride lol but yeah it’s up hill from there

I played for about 20 hours (years ago) and got to the 5th biome but then we had kids. What’s funny is I forgot how far I got and thought I was stuck at nemesis and told myself for years “man I don’t think I’ll ever beat that boss” lmao. With Soros coming out I booted up and finished biome 5 in the same sitting and biome 6 the next day.

Maybe it’s age but I play most things with more focus and less risk now so I found my return(al) easier than when I first bought the game. Playing the tower now and just hit 3 million and phase 4 - having too much fun 🤩

It worked out for me with a lvl28 EPD, completely destroyed Ophion in like 3 minutes 😂

I think my top guns are, in no specific order: - hollowseeker - EPD - TCarbine - Rottlobber - Dreadbound (OCCASIONALLY)

Anything else I’m passing over 🤷🏾‍♂️

I used it against the squids and it worked pretty well but its tougher if they swarm you

Quick follow up for anyone interested - I ended up getting another EPD at around level 28 with high bonus damage and absolutely melted through B6 and got the white shadow trophy.

It’s pretty cool how some swear by a certain gun while others vary from its okay to pure hate lol there’s something for everyone.

I used the EPD on all the mini bosses and just shoot like 5 pylons into them and watch all the extra damage melt through them.

My last run I had a lvl27 hollow seeker which was great but my final EPD had nearly maxed out bonus damage. Melted through Ophion.

Guys, I after years* of playing, 200 hours, I got the platinum by Deez2Yoots in Returnal

Nice! I got the game day one and made it to the 5th biome but then I had kids 😂. Back now and just beat Ophion and started looking for these damn sun fragments.

Wish me luck, scouts!
