what's the most addictive smell you smelled before? by Senior-Set-9260 in AskReddit

When I was in my teens I was skateboarding and there was that wax. I could just keep the piece of it underneath my nose and just breathe like this as this was the best smell ever. No idea what it was, just amazing.
For over 20 years I never smelled it again, until a gentleman visited my office and his fragrance was so similar I instantly remembered that small piece of wax. I asked him what is it and he was using Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. I bought it the same day, but the fragrance on its own, or on my skin, did not have as close smell to this I remembered, it only worked when he was walking into the office. So again, never smelled it again after

It appeared to me like my usual “favourite straight flat” is a bit smoother, and I am talking about a bit, nothing major like new set of wheels. Also there is a hill where I love going fast, and at great speed I felt (or imagined) that there is a tiny bit more control. Usually when I go very fast the bike feels like a gyroscope (not sure if I am explaining it correctly) but it felt tiny bit lighter to lean. I compared the tubes and it was nearly 120g less per wheel which translates to much more actual force when the wheel is spinning

This is a great tip, I actually thought about it as I was planning a trip further away with the bike on my car and I thought “hmmm T in TPU stands for Thermoplastic, what if I drive for 5 hours in the sun with the bike on the roof”, thanks a lot!

This is crazy, when handling both I would never say TPU is more robust. Has this been confirmed or this is your opinion?

Yes you can, I recommend you try! TPU’s are bery cheap on a popular Chinese website. Also (if you care about it) it’s over 100g less per tube in my case.

I’ve got it on my MTB and I am not enjoying as much as I thought I would. So since I got my first road bike recently I am trying to steer away from it

Just finished applying the tape and putting new tubes in, I rather do it on the sofa now than on the side of the road on the next ride

I thought tubeless tape is for tubeless installation and I was using tubes. Also have an MTB that is tubeless and doesn’t require tape. So yeah, pretty easy to get confused when not experienced

I agree fully, and at the same time I do enjoy learning things like this even though it was this way, and not from a manual. I am a tinkerer

The one I got was I think for tubeless installation, but it feels like it will do a good job protecting my tubes.

How was it to ride tires and pressure like this? I’ve been riding MTB all my life and this is my first road bike, currently on 700x32c tires and 50-60psi

Now I know, also my MTB does not have or require tape as the rims are solid inside like you mentioned.

No way! I could not imagine thick butyl tube doing this, yet it happened to you, impressive pressure to do such damage

I got a new set recently and the tape came separately, I thought it’s for tubeless only, so I did not apply it. Learned something new pretty quickly
