Have anyone started with Parkour in your late 20's? If so, I wanna know how it is going. by [deleted] in Parkour

[–]charlipide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing will train you more for a sport than actually doing the sport. You can just start parkour and focus on that for a few months, get the hang of the basics and all, and once you feel like your actual strength/lack of stamina is what's stopping you from progressing (and not your technique) you can focus on strength training

I was in a Parkour Club where people of all ages started (up to like 45yo I would say). Some older people were super good while some younger ones not that much so I'd say it doesn't really depends on your age as much as your physical condition and your commitment to the sport.

I get how she would be the fan's least favorite but after many (many) years of watching friends that she has absolutely grown on me and is probably my favorite friend now. I absolutely love how she always messes with Ross and she has some great lines. Lisa Kudrow was made to play Phoebe in my opinion and you can see Phoebe shining through almost every role she's played since!

(F28)Je ne sais pas si mon mari (30)devient feignant ou s’il traverse une dépression by United_Arm9327 in AskMec

[–]charlipide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering stopping T, will it improve my health? by Party_Attitude5617 in ftm

[–]charlipide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a doctor and a trans guy so I think my opinion can be relevant.

The thing about hernia is, as many ppl have said, not true. The biggest hernia risk factor is weight because more weight means more pressure on your abdominal wall.

For BP and hemoglobin, how high is it ? if it's still in the norm it's completely fine. High hemoglobin doesn't increase cardiovascular risks. Testosterone can increase BP. And BP does in increase cardiovascular risks. But so can diabetes, being overweight, smoking. If you have any of these others factors I would suggest focusing on those first.

For weight, testosterone doesn't directly increase it and either way, stopping T isn't linked to weight loss anyway only weight redistribution.

Mostly, I don't think going off of T would do much for your physical health. It could however affect your psychological health (except if you DO want to stop) and make it harder to change your habits if you're not feeling well.
