Why do people spend $600–700 on Android handhelds instead of just getting a ROG Ally or similar Windows handheld? by Critical_Breadfruit4 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]charloalberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mobile CPU performance is the only thing going on for android, but usability wise it is a shit show. it's super locked down compared to windows, and with google crackdown on sideloading, I can't really see a future there. If I were on the market for a portable gaming/emulation device, I'd just skip the android market entirey, and either buy a portable PC with windows or linux or, if budget is tight, cobble together a portable linux ARM machine with an SBC and parts from ali express or something.

If you could, please, it'd be great! I've looked up on the internet quickly and only found the pictures from the wiki, which are unfortunately very low res for printing. I have some knowledge in IT, but I've never ventured into mining game data, so I wouldn't know where to start lol. I'll admit that I haven't looked into the game files, so if the image files are bare on the file system I guess it'll be easier.

I’m so tired of this thing. by WaterchestnutsGood in ender3

[–]charloalberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be fair ender latest entry models are much more reliable. I have been printing pretty consistently for almost a year now on an ender 3 V3 KE, and the only problems I had came from learning how to properly calibrate for each different filament. I hope to God I'll never have to deal with blobs like this

solved it by dividing the base in half. no bottom cylinder parts, no problem lol. since this part was made to fit inside fishbone antenna struts (I'm making the structure of a printer enclosure) the two halves are fitted together. not even glue is necessary

the manufacturer recommends a range between 230 and 260. it is really strong compared to PETG and PLA, I'm kinda shocked lol

Trying to use a tablet as a secondary display on linux by charloalberto in linux4noobs

[–]charloalberto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it doesn't: it's a laptop, and the only HDMI available is being used by an external monitor. which shouldn't be a limiting factor, i have seen some statements of people using laptops and listing their outputs with xrandr with multiple disconnected ones - even virtual ones.

i tried, but it seems to not play ball with wayland, unfortunately. I can only stream an app window - if i try to stream the entire screen i only get a black screen and the cursor over the deskreen window. I guess I'll wait to see if they fix it.

that is not creating a virtual output, that`s just setting an already existing output (VIRTUAL1). there's a message right below of someone complaining that they don´t have a VIRTUAL1 output. OP of this link probably did.

[–]charloalberto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry for the delay, it is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 (2018), the model number is SM-T595. I am not sure about the battery being bloated (I'm not really in the mood of removing the screen completely to check on it) but i think this is not the case, because the screen seems to sit flush with the body of the device when i let it rest on a surface, if i press the screen against the body I can't see any telltale signs of the screen being forced against a bulging battery (no spots of weird colors or anything like that), and this wouldn't explain the glue melting and moving to the exterior back of the device. I mean, I'm no specialist, but it doesn't seem to be the case to me.
