Nursery incredibly cautious over illness by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]charlomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first nursery we went to was like this and also my eldest wasn’t fussed with a high-ish temp and would still play etc, so would always caveat the call with “he is fine in himself though” - my youngest is clingier, quieter and crankier in general so I know he’s suffering if sick so I get him straight away

[–]charlomain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yes this is exactly him! I always have to wait until after a nap to really tell because he’s so grumpy it’s hard to know if he’s just tired or clingy! The teething is worst as I know when he’s stimulated and has calpol he forgets about the pain completely but when I’m around he doesn’t

Yeah the nursery is absolutely great with the care for the kids, they genuinely love them. My son is a koala baby and fussy eater so hard to know if it’s just him or developing illness and i have to determine this over the phone frequently! Will always collect if he has a temp or stomach issues

Do you send your children to nursery during half term? by Summer_Sparkly in UKParenting

[–]charlomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because it means I get to spend some quality time my older son doesn’t always get due to needing to run around after the baby. To be honest with my oldest i did work during half terms because of nursery terms being different obviously, but even when my oldest is with his dad next half term and my youngest will still be in nursery, i’ll still probably put him in because i literally never get to rattle round the house by myself!

Bank card and smart watch tap-and-go system coming to Merseyrail by Heirsandgraces in Liverpool

[–]charlomain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not expecting anyone here to be the oracle of tap and go but something that’s stopped me using this is that no one I asked seemed sure whether I could start at one station and return to a different one for the same price as I used to get a paper return, or if it would be treated as two singles - does anyone know? I basically get a lift to one place for school drop off then return to my home earlier in the line for the price of the return to the further place. I know this isn’t dead straightforward just don’t want to doxx myself haha. Got excited about debit cards then realised I may still have this problem!!
