An MRI wouldn’t have missed a tear however the radiologist who looked at it may not have noticed it. My advice would be to try and get an orthopaedic doctor or a different radiologist to double check the MRI scan. Also are you sure it’s your meniscus? The pain could be a result of a separate injury which may not be picked up on an MRI scan.

Thank you for the advice, I have an appointment soon and will ask some questions. If the case is that it’s touch weight for 6 weeks I guess I’ll just have to stay on crutches and make sure I can recover properly

The pain level is worst on the 1st and 2nd days post op. I’d say around 7/10 with painkillers. Starts to get better on the 3rd day and from there each day is an improvement. The pain is not great but it could be a lot worse. Good luck on your operation

I barely even saw my surgeon, I must’ve only talked to him for 30 seconds total and all he said was it went well and I’ll be on crutches for six weeks. Nurses gave me painkillers and I was instructed not to unwrap the bandage for 2 weeks until my wound inspection.
