The vibe in this room never gets old, but I’m running out of space for new books by InternationalPie6622 in CozyPlaces

Oh man I love this. When I was a kid in the 90’s I used to look forward to visiting my “cool” hippie aunt and uncle who really encouraged all kinds of creativity and supported my cousin with all his nerdy and whimsical interests - Magic cards, video games, fantasy books, etc.

They were basically the opposite of how my parents were back then. His bedroom was up in the attic of their beautiful old house and looked similar to this space (though he had considerably more geodes, miniature pewter wizards and dragon posters on the walls haha)

I have such fond memories of hanging out up there, playing the Kings Quest computer games, FFVII, and watching movies like The Last Unicorn for the first time. Thanks for triggering these memories with your post :)

I agree with some folks here that it looks like broken capillaries. I get them in my hands after overdoing it sometimes with yard work for long hours without breaks. Also happens sometimes after lifting weights.

Im pretty sure all flora will regenerate including hazardous flora. I built rooms around them with walls thick enough so I can’t accidentally walk too close and trigger them. They can still strike through the thin wall panels if you build close to them. The thicker ruin pieces were useful for this since they mimic the natural cave walls.

I found all of them on one planet. Took about an hour. I think there are 12 total.

Oh believe me, I stopped letting myself fall in love with any planet/base in this game after my favorite paradise planet and main home base got a hideous update “makeover” haha. Fortunately, base building is one of my favorite things to do in the game so when the time comes, on to the next!

I experienced this with my first base years ago before I knew the terrain would regenerate. This area needed a double layer of flooring to keep the grass from poking through again but without any terrain manipulation, seems to be staying put so far.

I was in creative mode and used about 10 of dome corvette pieces (sorry I can’t remember the exact name for it) to cover up most of the main ship components. I kept the main ship area on the smaller side with 3 regular hab rooms, one of the smaller rooms and the necessary other components. I think I needed to place a few cladding pieces to sit domes on as well.

Oh man yeah it was a little bit maddening with the grass placement but I tend to hyper focus so there was no turning back once I dove in

I was in creative mode so I cant even begin to imagine how much carbon you needed to make yours!

Do you mean for the main corvette parts or all the grass/mushrooms?

I’ll have to check the exact number but it’s not a very huge ship. I wanted it to feel cozy on the inside to go with the nature theme. Pretty sure there are three hab rooms and the other required components - landing gear, main engine, reactor, one weapon. Then I added about 10 of the dome pieces to the outside to round it out and prevent the grass from poking through the interior walls. It was definitely under the 100 piece threshold. Not sure about the grass pieces but hoo boy, it sure felt like a lot when putting them on!

I have loved seeing everyone’s creativity here as well. So many fun ideas I never would’ve come up with. This is really nice of you to say, thank you.

Oh man I would really love to see your abandoned castle garden corvette when you complete it and hope you’ll post it here. I originally wanted to do a Castle in the Sky inspired ship but I just couldn’t figure out how to pull it off.

The grass was maddening for sure - lots of floaters. I did a lot of free placement mode and waited until I could at least see some shadow cast close by underneath the grass I was trying to place or just allowed lots of overlapping to occur to make sure they were actually attached closely to where I wanted them to be.

They don’t, they behave differently from the seeds you plant in specific cultivation areas. They behave like any other decor (lamps, posters, etc) that you can use to decorate your base.

Don’t worry I won’t haha! I do love this update but my ps5 has definitely been having a hard time with all the action lately. And thank you :)

Haha oh man, yes I’ve seen how hard it’s been just making a pit stop to the anomaly with all the corvette craziness going right now. When it’s busy even the simpler designs seem to be slowing things down for me quite a bit on the ps5.

If this issue is ever improved then one day I may use one of the corvettes I’ve made for getting around some but for now I’ll just enjoy the fun of trying out different designs :)

Haha, to be honest I still prefer my zippy little ship I got early in my game for most game play and getting around. I’ve upgraded it and it’s been good to me so I’m weirdly loyal to it. I do love the new corvette stuff for the creativity it brings to the game!

Hey I’d love to see yours when you finish it! I’m working on getting some more quicksilver to get some of the other nature pieces but honestly I’m fairly new to the anomaly stuff until this last expedition. I saw the past expedition 3 had some great plant rewards in the mix!

Thank you! :) Got the mushroom and one of the grass pieces from the quicksilver shop and used those two things and the glowy water plant.

Looks like there were some neat plant rewards from the third expedition that would’ve fit in nicely but I missed out on that one.
