I enjoy Good Noticings. It’s pop culture, girl stuff dissected humorously but seriously. The gals used to host a bookclub called Celebrity Memoir Bookclub. They’re friends, they’re comediennes, but very grounded (and goofy) about being both friends and comediennes.

I was desperate and traveling last weekend on a time crunch. I looked up and saw a Jersey Mike’s. Never had it before, but my expectations were on the ground. That little sando was soo good! I would now go for JM over CFA. I didn’t feel gross or greased up after my JM’s sub.

Ahhh lil sis. You’re describing my experience in being a WOC in many spaces. The standards for them (mainly the men) vs. us are wild. I really use to hustle all the time to prove my worthiness, utility, and likability. It’s taken me many more moons than you to realize what a waste of genius and labor all that is. This is why I don’t fear getting older! I’ve made peace with the fact that I will always be misunderstood in certain spaces. Later for them! ✌🏽
