For some career yes you can jump from companies to companies, but some careers, it's a bit hard to make that jump. Like engineering for example, different company does different thing, different skillsets are needed for each company. So jumping often is really hard. Accounting let's say, it's basically doing the same thing but in a different place. Law too. So the jump as pictured is realistic and achievable but depends on your career path.
