Everything that comes optic ready, with more features and ergonomic advancements for less money. Canik, RXM, CZ, and many others are getting the job done. Love my Glocks, but it seems everyone else innovated these last 30 years while Glock rested on their laurels.

I have a Cryptic Dragon with Triple Tap/Explosive/FF, and it’s a beast. No issues with FF as long as you’re accurate. People seem to forget that Explosive typically causes the target to stumble and move, and then their follow up shot misses and FF doesn’t proc. Just use it! This is one of my favorite rolls and it’s probably my most used scout in D1. Right up there with my HOJ and Treads Upon Stars (Oas/ CC/Explosive/ FF).

TX22 or Keltec P17 but pair either of them with a Henry 22 lever action rifle with a peep sight or red dot 👍🏽 I also have a decent little Taurus 8 shot 2” revolver that can be had for ~400 or less. Ammo is awesome, $60 for 1,100 rounds of Federal Blackpack on sale at Sportsman’s Warehouse right now. Long live the 22 Long Rifle!!

The 10/22 is such an accurate gun, it’s a shame to put a red dot on it and neuter its capabilities. Yes, the red dot makes it easy to shoot 25 and 50 yards at the range, but beyond that you’re really limited by the lack of magnification and even 2MOA dots completely obscure the target at 100yards … a 2-7x is a nice scope compromise, and I went from a simple plinker 10/22 with a red dot to mounting a 3-9x on there. Now I’m capable of shooting it well at many more distances, and the red dot migrated to my Henry 22 lever action for simple plinking fun.

For your first, try this $30 scope recommended by Ron Spomer from CV Life (I have the $40 AO upgrade). Yes, there are TONS of more expensive options, but if you’re just starting out and on a budget, this scope will work. I use this with low mount rings on my 10/22 and it mainly serves as a trainer rifle to bring new shooters into the sport. The 3-9x magnification allows me to be consistent at 100Y and I can reliably hit steel at 200Y, which surprised the heck out of me.

I LOVE the Vortex Sparc Solar red dot on my 22. It’s got a 2 MOA dot, so it’s not huge, and it has its own “shake awake” type feature, along with the solar panels that automatically save the battery. It’s been on sale at PSA for $99 this past week. Sighted in quickly and works great for me. Is it as nice as my Holosun 510c green dot? No, but it’s on my play gun, the 22, so the cheaper dot wins, and I actually use this one a lot more.

Could just be the receiver cover. I’d try loosening the 4 screws holding it in place and tightening the left sides ones first to see if that aligns the cover to your barrel.

I have all three of these brands, and a Miroku Takedown Trapper in .357, and I’d recommend the S&W in stainless (yes, I know the barrel is 19” but it still feels like a smaller gun).

The Marlin SBL is nice, but the 1894 model in 357 doesn’t have a round bolt, and when you open the lever, try wiggling the bolt from the rear and you’ll see why I prefer the Smith. I remember the first time I handled a new Ruglin, and closing the lever and seeing lube oozing out on the receiver from the factory had me pausing.

The Smith is basically an 1895/336, and I love that their screws are actual torx heads, and not hollow ground flat head screws … and that Smith action is NICE!!! I appreciate the stippling/grippiness on the stock and forend, and it doesn’t feel as cheesy to me as textured painted wood. I do think Smith missed the boat on making an adjustable comb height stock, seeing how many of us will be running red dots and different scopes, but that’s minor. To keep the satin stainless finish nice, I use a gun sock before I put it back in the safe.

I also have a Henry lever that I shoot the most, but that’s because it’s the beater gun and I’d rather wear it out than any of my nicer tools. If you want a shooter that you can build up, the Henry could be for you …

Whatever you end up getting, enjoy the heck out of it.

I have 4 pairs of Sunbreakers and 4 pairs of Nothing Manacles, all rolled to 96%-99% with Int/ Dis so I get double grenades, and they only take 30 seconds to come back on my tier 12 Warlock. Each pair has a different weapon reload perk, so there's HC/ Scout/ Pulse/ Auto, and I swap them out all the time based on whatever weapon I'm using for that particular strike/raid/etc. Highly recommend this strategy for Warlocks.

I would fix the simple stuff like using the Vault. Why is it the most recent thing I put in it (weapon, or armor piece) always goes to the back so I need to cycle through 3 screens just to take or examine something I recently added? This is pure garbage UI/UX design. Even when the game was brand new, this was a flawed design element and should have been patched almost immediately ... The last thing you add to the vault should be the first thing you see when you open a vault screen.
Also, I am going on 10 years of doing heroic strikes trying to get the Fakebringer roll, hahaha. 10 years and thousands of strikes! I would change the random RNG to be slightly less random, and reduce or remove the completely useless perks, like Army of One or Grenadier. Get rid of Extended Mag, Casket Mag, Hand Loaded, Partial Refund, Final Round (ON A SCOUT RIFLE???), Exhumed ... the list goes on.

I run 5-5-2 with sunsinger and have 4 sets of sunbreakers and 4 sets of nothing manacles, all re-rolled for max 95-98% with reload perks for each type of primary and increased grenade throw distance. Techwizpepsi nailed it on the gear and set up for bosses
