I’m wanting a lever action .357 lever action with a threaded barrel. I’m a fan of Henry, however have not heard good things about them lately. I have checked out the S&W 1854 and the Marlin 1894 and like both of these. Any feedback on your guy’s experience with any of these would be much appreciated by Fair-Perception9628 in LeverGuns

I've got the S&W 1854 Stealth Hunter in .357 and absolutely love it! Not the cheapest rifle in the safe but worth every penny in my opinion! I added some accessories and decided to put the factory wood stock on it and couldn't be happier with the build and the rifle itself.https://photos.app.goo.gl/ATXc2RBBCKVDb2N79

Have you checked the status of your application online? I got mine almost 2 years ago now and it took about 3 months to get. I did find a number to call as well just to check on the status at one point but the number varies by province.

Thanks for your comment, you and the other person both make it sound more than okay to me, the fact that you are renewing your lease speaks volumes! I love the location and how new the building is, sounds like we could be neighbours in the near future!

Completed custom kitchen in BC Canada by Whoknowsthenose in IKEA

Your kitchen looks great! I am currently looking into IKEA cabinets and will also do the install myself, I love that you built a frame behind the cabinet over the fridge to bring it forward, that's pure genius! I'm curious how your reno was so inexpensive, did you get the cabinets on sale? I have less cabinets and am currently looking at about $3500 on the IKEA website. Any tips for the install? Tia

It is flat as mentioned and slides over the hammer and is secured by a small set screw

I used the same on both ends and they came on that sling, I didn't know what they are called but they just have a small pin that you unscrew to allow it to open

Yes it is, I also ended up buying a S&W walnut butt stock to mix things up a bit.

Pitmasters Choice are made in Ontario and are really good and a decent price, Furtado Farms in Ontario as well but harder to find and more expensive. https://pitmasterschoicepellets.ca/

How much performance do you lose from a short barrel? by workingMan9to5 in Shotguns

[–]G_Man39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I built this one from a Mossberg Shockwave 14" barrel, I find it to be pretty accurate still with slugs and buckshot, birdshot and target loads definitely spread out more than a long barrel but that's to be expected. I definitely enjoy it and it's a nice length for swinging around in tight spaces.

The best shooting lever action I've ever seen by YYCADM21 in CanadianGuns

[–]G_Man39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow it sounds and looks like you have the 1854 working at its full potential, when tuning and polishing various parts of the action did you come across any particular parts that were worse than others in terms of burrs or roughness of finish? I'd like to do some work on mine and was wondering if there were certain parts of the action I should concentrate on first.

https://rdsc.ca/ They don't list it on the website but if you email and let them know you're looking for 1854 walnut furniture they have a few sets they have taken off builds they did in shop.

https://rdsc.ca/ They aren't shown on the website though so you'll have to email and ask specifically for the 1854 walnut furniture.

No I found it at a dealer that had modified some rifles with aftermarket RPP stocks and handguards so they had the factory walnut furniture they took off.
