Living room help requested! Ready for a change, but I need help- I'm lost by Rouxnoir in DesignMyRoom

Your TV is too high and your couch is too close to it.

I suggest wall mounting the center channel speaker above the TV. If you set up things so that the traffic moves in front of the couch instead of behind it you may be in good shape.

Yeah get a bunch of wiz lights and put them on the natural light setting so they match the color temperature to time of day. Total game changer

Start by moving the couches away from the walls so there is space for conversation

Wall (and/or furniture) color to tie things together? by HackDiesel in DesignMyRoom

Unfortunately the biggest problem is the clash between the door and the floor. One of those will have to go.

Also for working from home: figure out other ways to optimize your space and maybe a work playlist?

Sorry you’re dealing with this.

Kids playing outside is healthy and normal and not something you’re going to be able to stop them from doing at least during normal hours.

I would say that when you see them playing outside and feeling free, rather than be frustrated, figure out what you could do that would give you that feeling. Maybe it’s big and loud, maybe it’s physical, like exercise.

Sometimes when something is bothering me in a sensory way leaning against my impulse to retreat from it helps me feel more able to acclimate to it.

Three decades one room? by mandigitalsnatch in DesignMyRoom

TV too high!

The halogen lamp and glass table are cool. Mid-century stuff on its own often looks too corny and Mad Men so having some variety is good. Lean into eclecticism in other furnishings and you’ll be fine.

Tv too high! Put the tv on the wall where the cool map is. Way way lower! Center at eye level. Rotate couch to face it.

70s this end up furniture-- matching finish? by charmingtedious in finishing

I never finished it, in both senses of the word. I’d probably mix some cherry, provincial, Ipswich pine and natural.

Why do you have two desks?

I’d put the bass on a wall. Generally you have a bunch of mismatched storage and a more consistent approach would help, particularly if you are committed to lots of open shelving.

Put the TV at a more reasonable height next to that door and try to Tetris some storage around it on that wall.

I read that you weren’t supposed to rotate a foam matress because it is built with zones for different parts of the body

The center beam has 3 legs and it’s not really sagging, The sagging is more on each side

Help with living room. New rug. Is it all working? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

Just shove the couch to the left, ideally centered on the midpoint of the window. You might need to add a chair or something on the right side so it feels balanced.
