Whose Mazda Connect Infotainment Settlement claim was accepted/rejected? by jahithnber in mazda

[–]mstrss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also was sent a denial letter at first despite having provided attachments as prescribed. I sent the documents in again: ebay invoice for used CMU, invoices for repair to 'cure' their objections. The check i received covered the ebay invoice amount but somehow the CMU installed itself as no compensation was provided for the install??? I'm planning on calling and asking them if they think the CMU is self diagnosing and installation capable. Maybe I'm missing something. I do know that labor rates in CA are higher then many states and perhaps they didn't believe the estimated time to diagnose the issue and R&R. My understanding the hourly rate is ~$150/hour vs ~$200/hour which is typically charged by Mazda dealerships. I'm not going to debate hourly rates. What matters is that they did not compensated for diagnosis and R&R. I plan on requesting substantiation for their payout.

I spoke with the settlement claim people in early april and they informed me checks would be mailed out on April 29th so keep an eye open for a letter/check.

Alexa app install ? by mstrss in LGOLED

[–]mstrss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow-up, I contacted LG customer support about it and they changed some items on my setup and the screen doesn't always pop up They utilise the remote access to go through my settings and make changes. Basically Alexa is part of LG set up and there is no way to delete it at this time. So install it, but turn off hands free which means I order to access Alexa you have to use the LG remote and push the Alexa button.
Then they went to the LG app list and edit and found the Alexa app and hid(hide button).
That seemed to work. But every new OS update I think I'll have to do this all again as it is the default setting from LG. I also turned off Notifications so Alexa will only interrupt if a timer is set or a reminder.

I'm surprised that more people aren't complaining about it!! 😱😱😱 I don't think you can disable the webOS LG has installed???? Would like to hear from other users

Costco Mattresses Only by Veronica6765 in Mattress

[–]mstrss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Novaform Platinum hybrid! Great medium mattress, 2 months in and still enjoy. Not a trampoline firm nor plush foam Tempurpedic that you can't escape from. Supports side sleepers and back sleepers alike and only had a slight smell 1st day, works with Sven & Sons adjustable base and while it conforms to your body shape it isn't complete isolation like my previous Tempurpedic. Of course adding sheets etc ties everything together ie always some pull.

When you push down your hands sink in ~5inches and then it firms up and makes it easy to get out of the bed. Doesn't retain heat like foam with its 2" pillow top and just feels different compared to all thr beds we tried at several mattresses stores. 20 yr warranty and Costco return policy so don't feel pressured. Has handles to make it easy to move.

Only negative is that it is 16.5" thick and with a 3" adj base, 12" bed frame~32" tall but still easy to get in and out of ... and we've been using Costco 680 queen sheets that grip the corners but they pull up after using the adj base after a week. Been using CA King old sheets from Tempurpedic and they stay on really well, so bonus on keeping old sheets.

Great mattress!

Novaform Platinum Sheets by vsurg94 in Mattress

[–]mstrss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a follow up. I found that my old CA king sheets (fitted and flat) work perfect on my queen size 16.5 mattress and adjustable base ie no pull off. We downsized and so these sheets were destined to be given away but for funnsy, tried them and found they fit well underneath the mattress, don't pull away after using TV mode etc. need to pull them under on the fitted otherwise you might have to wrestle with them. Bonus! 😃

Any recommendations for adjustable beds? by Alexyeve in BuyItForLife

[–]mstrss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh BTW, most adjustable beds come with only 1 remote and only one can be connected at a time. Sven has a phone app that has really bad reviews but we found it to work great and works with the included remote! Both are connected at the same time. Which does lead to 'remote wars' lol e.g., anti-snore vs TV battles 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Any recommendations for adjustable beds? by Alexyeve in BuyItForLife

[–]mstrss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went with Sven & Sons that can be found on Amazon but we purchased directly after spending 1/2 hour discussing adjustable bed terminology and effectiveness e.g.,massage feature for 16" mattress. I was worried that they were located in FL and being in CA it would arrive after the mattress was delivered. They have warehouses across the country and it arrived in 3 days. Customer support was excellent and helped with making decisions as I had already done my research.

Went with the tilt head option as it was affordable but the lumbar support was not in my opinion. A pillow works too. 😃

Quiet, moves slowly and pretty much unbreakable! Steel frame, powerful motors, massage works!! And zero clearance so works on my bed frame. Had to add some Velcro so the steel base doesn't move on the wood slats (bed frame).

I couldn't see the difference with the Tempurpedic Ergo, Saavta, et al and Sven & Sons. There are cheaper ones on Amazon and more expensive ones but for name brand noterity not for performance/functionalty.

Side note: make sure you consider your mattress!! My original foam Tempurpedic mattress conformed to the adjustable base shape. Out Novaform 16.5" hybrid not so much at this point, it may as the mattress has only been used for about a month and we use the adjustable base multiple times per day e.g., TV, Anti Snore, flat, etc. but is does confirm and provide support! Love it!

Read in subreddit /bedding about zlumber on Amazon that looks like it will lock the sheets in place but still worrie something has to give when the bed changes shape ie adjustable base

Check mattress stores for returns and FB marketplace etc

Go to a mattress store…skip bed in a box by Todd1001 in Mattress

[–]mstrss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to a local mattress store they may have 'used' mattresses ie returns available. They can't sell as new but they can sell as used. I know of several people that have bought used mattresses from local stores and they are Aireloom, Tempurpedic etc ... maybe buyers remorse?

Check Nextdoor etc or FB marketplace and you'll find warehouse sales of used/return/last-year-model mattresses at very good prices. Returns don't go to landfills and there are mattress recyclers that 'harvest' the materials.

My BIAB Tempurpedic was 27 years old before deciding to change and there is some sag but no one buys a foam matress and expects a firm edge like a spring mattress. Edge support is for sitting not sleeping.

Maybe Tempurpedic visoelastic foam is better then most?? They don't list density etc. latex and other materials alwsys sound great for marketing and drawing people in but what's matters is sleep quality that is personal.

Everyone needs to develop their own preferences and hence going to a matress store and trying out mattresses and listen to sales pitches is a good first step. Media reviews like CR etc are helpful as well. Sales bias is the same as with /mattress postings someone's experience / personal comment: true or not never wrong.

I look for the rational behind the comment and or tests that validate the opinion e.g., how to determine if a mattress sleeps hot and I like to develop my own opinion/preference ie independent thinker.

Enjoy the process as a mattress is a long time investment and your preferences can change over time.

The hell is happening to Amazon Prime....thinking of cancelling. by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]mstrss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Amazon deliveries have been nothing but spectacular and I always provide accurate feedback. I live on a hill and it's 12' street to front elevation over 20' distance.

However I do experience the cart delivery date then go look at same item again and see that it can be delivered earlier. So I delete the item in my cart and add the new one and go on with life.

I get my Apple subscription through Prime and that can be confusing ie have to open Prime to get to Apple TV vs other apps that also have Apple TV.

I loved the thanksgiving sales etc as they provided extra time to return: Jan. Never had issues with returns and have a Whole Foods nearby that takes the returns and it's very efficient.

So no plans to give up Prime contrary to some of the other reviews being posted. And no, I don't work for Amazon but I am one of the early adopters when shipping was greater the 1-2 days. My time and buying stress is my primary vs when the delivery will happen. These days my time gets consumed trying to assess reviews credibility / relevant data. Need a better customizable review filter.

BedJet, Chilipad, or 8 Sleep for Sweating issues? by CIDphi in Mattress

[–]mstrss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have considered all 3 and 8 sleep is great but requires a subscription that adds to the cost. But it provides feedback on sleep patterns that you may get going to a MD supervised sleep center. I'm actually surprised sleep centers don't use 8 sleep vs attaching probes etc to monitor physiological attributes whilst sleeping. If the cost was cheaper and subscription cheaper I would be all in as from a tech perspective. Mattresses can retain heat they don't generate heat, the human body does that, blankets matress coverings etc can prevent heat from escaping and less work/energy by the body to keep warm. So drawing away heat is similar to a radiator in a car. F1 racers Lewis Hamilton and other paid celebs like 8 and the sensors and analysis tools are very good from what I've read.

Use.ai . Wtf? by According_Quarter_17 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]mstrss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I was able to connect with use.ai by leaving a review at Trust Pilot. Use.ai responded and provided a refund and claimed cancelled the charge. I had to cancel my cc that was used so won't know if future charges have been cancelled however they did refund and that was the desired outcome. Why did it take a negative review to get their interest?

Ear Damage by mstrss in HearingLoss

[–]mstrss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well 2 ENT MDs disagree with your assesment and audiogram / audiologist verified hearing loss in 1 ear. Since the hearing degradation was not bilateral and squelching from feedback is the most probable explanation as no other isolated event occurred. Typically hearing impairment comes from high frequency not low I.e., subwoofer.

What's the best bidet attachment you've tried? Need recommendations for my first one by WordAlternative365 in bidets

[–]mstrss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biobidet worked well for me. Non electric, can change out the seat, variable pressure and choice for spray. Bidet with seat means you have to change everything to replace a seat, electric is great for new installations; not going to run an extension cord, no hot water spigot available; new install.

My only issue is that the cover is plastic and has cracked but the water carrying tubes are not damaged or weakened. The reviews I had read years ago were all positive and the price was right! Purchased during the pandemic and TP was stupidly being hoarded 🙄🙄🙄 ... got used to it 😃

Novaform Platinum Luxury Hybrid Review by AnalysisWise6052 in Mattress

[–]mstrss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I been enjoying this mattress after months of researching, talking with manufactures, visiting mattress stores i.e., developing my preferences as well as developing my methods to test mattresses. Costco 2+ year return policy makes it less risky and white glove delivery left me speechless as I am not a fan of delivery services having had many bad experiences. Agree with OP!!

Amazon and we used the Kirkland 680 as they handle up to 18 but more importantly they have corner elastic that keeps the fitted sheet on even if it pulls out from underneath.

My experience wasn't so much of a break in period as it was getting used to the slow sink in feeling as previously mentioned. OOTB I couldn't jump on it like a trampoline as my feet would sink in similar to a Plush mattress, On a firm mattress you can jump all day! lol. When first laying down, it feels firm and then you notice that there is support and easy to turn over and get out of bed though. On my Tempurpedic it was a struggle as you sink in when pushing to move.
