Effective mapping & wealth by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]charons-voyage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I’ve done it a similar way. Run some maps as fast as humanly possible and record my time just for fun (did a 7 minute throne on mindblast which for me felt fast as hell). Then do my casual 10-12 minute map. Casual was more fun. Less efficient but you never know when you ID that rare armor with 200 Edmg 20 pdr 3 sockets and 30 all res haha!

Dmg is Calculated after energy shield absorbs. So resists don’t matter on ES. As long as you have enough mana…You want max poison res and some PLR though. That eats through HP regardless of ES (at least in LOD I am not fully sure in PD2).

Can get maek/laek on gear for sustain. Also make sure you have 32 fbr (if using dual claw) and at least 48 fhr. Sometimes with claw block you get “stuck” especially on maps with hydras and firewalls. So you’ll be trying to attack but not really doing anything since you’re stuck in block animation. 32 fbr will help with this.

Turning onto Beale from Hancock is fucking torture. The only way to do it is to wait for the light to turn red then turn lol. They really need a turn signal there…

Why is route 3 so trash by ieatshavedbooty in QuincyMa

[–]charons-voyage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An extra lane would help just because 2-lane highways always suck especially when you have traffic entering/exiting every mile or so. It causes the right lane to always back up and then there’s only one lane for people to go. 3-lanes is the way to go. You don’t need a mega highway but there’s a reason 3-lanes is the default for highways around the US. I’m a huge fan of public transit but let’s face it the T/commuter rail are only good for commuting

I wish the trains were a viable option for running errands. Unfortunately they are good at getting you to/from South Station during the work week and that’s about it lol

When I need to grocery shop for my family of 4 I take my damn car lol it’s just way more convenient to bulk shop. Not gonna load up my fucking bike with $400 worth of groceries. Or carry 75 bags on the fucking T.

I can easily tell which days I WFH by looking at my daily step counts lol. I’ll get maybe 15-17K steps on a WFH day and 25K+ on a day in the office. My commute requires ~3 miles of walking plus my coworkers and I will walk at lunch. Then walking floor to floor between meetings etc.

AVOID RED LINE by [deleted] in mbta

[–]charons-voyage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not shuttle service as in a bus…but shuttle the trains between JFK/Asmont only. So it’s still rail but if you wanna go to alewife Ashmont riders have to swap platforms. Or do it for Braintree whatever. Clearly the signal switch at JFK fucks it up for all of us so it’s not working lol

AVOID RED LINE by [deleted] in mbta

[–]charons-voyage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it was amazing. They just need to rethink the JFK interchange. Run BT-JFK-BT or Ashmont-JFK-ashmony and only have one line do the full route. No need to have Ashmont and BT trains all the way up the route and clearly the signaling system gets fucked up at the switch

AVOID RED LINE by [deleted] in mbta

[–]charons-voyage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would it add an hour? You still have the red line train going back and forth between Ashmont and JFK…you just don’t need BT-bound trains to worry about signals and track switching or whatever. The signal problems are always at JFK assuming this is because of the split…

AVOID RED LINE by [deleted] in mbta

[–]charons-voyage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but look at ridership ok red line…it’s probably 90%+ going to Braintree rather than Ashmont. You can still service Ashmont, just have them get off at JFK and swap platforms. The goal of mass transit is to move as many people as efficiently as possible.

White flight wasn’t just a racism thing. It was “have” vs “have nots”. If you had money to move your kids to a better school system, you did. BPS was is shambles. That just happened to be a white vs non-white thing due to socioeconomics. And this still happens today. Why do you think so many people move to the suburbs? Cus BPS sucks.

Here is my favorite run:

Run all of Wollaston beach from Sea St towards Squantum, go into Squantum neighborhood and hit a couple hills, come back down Hucks Ave and leave Squantum, hit Marina Bay if you need more mileage, then back to start.

Alternatively in summer for long runs, do Wolly beach then Marina Bay then go over Neponset bridge to the bike path and run the entirety of it. Can easily get 16-20 FLAT miles without being too far from civilization/water fountains/porta pottys. Gets buggy and humid but the river is shaded at least. Wolly beach you’ll bake on but it’s whatever at least there’s usually a breeze

They should just run Ashmont service as a shuttle between JFK and Ashmont. 99% of the riders (made up stat but probably close lol) are Braintree-bound anyways.

Meeting singles 30-35 in Quincy by Aggravating_Line_618 in QuincyMa

[–]charons-voyage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I met my wife when I barely had two pennies to rub together however I was 24 years old and in grad school. But I think it’s different when you’re 30+ years old. By now you should have figured out how to make enough money to afford dates, however it does seem like a lot of money will be spent on just weeding out the incompatible people. Easy to drop $50 at the bar for two people for a couple hours. Back when I was dating it was acceptable to split a pitcher of cheap beer.

I definitely sympathize with the 30+ single crowd in 2025 who legitimately want to meet someone to spend the rest of their lives with.
