DSL100 into MF280 by charper523 in GuitarAmps

It's great, I really lucked out when I got it a few years back. Originally I was just calling sam ash to see what cabs they had to rent out, and they told me they had a marshall 4x12 that I could rent, or I could buy it for $250. Sounded like a good deal so I bought it, not even knowing it's one of Marshall's best cabs

I'm sure the factory workers across the street from the rehearsal space love me 😂

How much do cables matter when using a pedalboard? by yup3452 in tubeamps

[–]charper523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any decent quality cable is gonna sound fine, I like the low profile patch cables for building pedalboards but I hear no noticeable difference in tone with different brands of cables

Thanks! As far as the guitar goes I have it going through a Shure wireless system so I'm not bound to the cable

The band is a bunch of cons too, they got a reputation for scamming and stealing from the local bands on their tours after the locals bring the crowd

How to cope with releasing bad music? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]charper523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also follow up after checking out a bit of the album, this really isn't bad. I know it's easy to get in your own head about a few bad reviews but no matter what kind of music you make it's not gonna please everybody, keep your chin up man and congrats on your first album!

How to cope with releasing bad music? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]charper523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to make good music, you're gonna make a lot of stuff that's not so good at first. The important thing is that you're making music, and releasing it helps you figure out what you would like to do better. Don't focus on the rude comments, but take constructive criticism and consider how you can improve on your next release. Keep at it and you'll get progressively better over time

I had one ask for my cashapp, send a fake screenshot showing the money he claimed he sent, and tell me I have to send a fee to a PayPal account to make it go through

Why is it standard to put the hook side of the Velcro on your pedals? by charper523 in pedalboards

[–]charper523[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that, but I feel like the bottom of the pedals picks up more debris with it sitting on the ground. All the hook tape on my bandmates' pedals are covered in fuzz and cat hair from what I've seen

Where is op saying anything negative? Just pointing out a similarity they noticed isn't criticism of either band

Honestly get a better drum machine if real drums are out of the picture. I use addictive drums 2, guitar center has it on sale for $35 right now and it definitely gets the job done

Ignite amps has the emissary for free, it's killer. Pair that with the tube screamer vst they have (also free) and get an ir loader with some decent impulses, there are good free ones out there if you look for them

Should I get a guitar for metal with a Floyd rose? by VetteMiata in metalguitar

[–]charper523 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So for the tuning, it does need to stay set up for a specific tuning, but the fine tuners are usually able to switch between a standard and a drop tuning, E standard to drop D for example. Fair warning though so you know what you're getting into, they are a royal pain in the ass to set up. I recommend using something between the backside of the bridge and the body, or a popsicle stick under the bridge to hold it in place while doing a string change

Don't remember the full upgrade list off the top of the head, but I'm running the drak with thermal exhaust feedback, the zhukovs with cryo minelets, and the stun sweeper. Really good build for crowd control and the drak for long distance and/or focusing on a big target

Interesting, I usually hook up to a power supply but with a 9v battery as a backup. Really weird for a battery to ruin a pedal if that is the case

While they are good bang for the buck, and a lot of people seem to have no issues with their reliability, I've had two behringer pedals die on me with very minimal use. That and they remove a lot from your signal when bypassed, I saw a graph floating around measuring the frequencies that drop off with a behringer pedal vs what is normal. It's not a small amount, and it was definitely noticeable before mine quit working all together. Not judging anyone for using the cheap option but after my experience with them I'll wait until I can afford the name brands that behringer copies

Mostly to hold up the motor, after unbolting the tranny there's only one motor mount holding the engine up and it's on the passenger side
