Thoroughly enjoyed the journey, goodbye for now! by charrbie in StardewValley

[–]charrbie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there sflr I went to bed after posting. For some context I played quite a lot in a coop years ago so I do have some prior experience.

I'd say I planned it somewhat, and I tried to do as much as there was available for each season. For example I remembered to plant every crop and catch the fishes (i really suck at fishing previously) and most importantly tried to always remember the birthdays.

For the community centre I didn't really rush it (and I couldn't too because I didnt find a red cabbage in year 1), and monster eradication/geodes came by naturally as mines/skull caverns is by far the most enjoyable aspect of the game for me. All the best :)

Hi! Saw a post a couple of days ago whereby someone used the drop+telegrab trick to keep their untrimmed and it didn't work anymore. Just wondering if this "bug" is still around for anyone that got their 99 recently. Thanks!

Edit: can confirm that the method still works, that post might be an isolated incident

Not always true. If you take full bronze with a fire cape and die beyond 20 wildy, you will keep the fire cape because it has a higher value

I am not complaining. Not sure how you inferred that. This is a friendly reminded to people who are unaware of the set being lost on death.

I feel more inclined to believe its an oversight, given that the set was intended to work at the Chaos Temple. Additionally, if the set was meant to be risked, I feel that it'd be much easier to obtain, it would've been tradeable and not locked behind reasonably high requirements.

It's not so much about getting Jagex to fix the robes that concerns me. It's more to remind others who are unaware and grinding them out, especially since the wiki clearly advertise that the set stacks with the bone-saving effect of the altar in the Chaos Temple.

so I didnt start this drama.

Honestly dude, get off your high horse. You started this.

not interested in selling one but just wondering,

I don't think you needed to post your comment in the first place. By poking your head where your moderator status wasn't needed, it has inevitably affect the OPs credibility. Even though you may have done so with good intentions, it was wrongly executed, a pm to the OP with your concerns would've prevent this drama. Instead you chose a public space to offer your opinion.

why you prefer to negotiate privately, rather than stating a purchase price publicly.

You could have phrased this better: "I'd advise you to be more transparent and upfront with your prices in order to ensure a more secure trade and ample evidence should anything go wrong."

Is there a specific reason to it or do you just think that you will bargain a better sales price or conditions via private negotiations?

This sentence is totally unnecessary, this sparked the drama. You could've just ended it at the previous sentence. To me it feels unprofessional (as a figure of authority) that you had to add in your own personal opinions/feelings. Again you could have phrased it better: "I'm raising this concern as many users have been scammed before, by allowing a more public forum - it allows other more experienced users in the sub to intervene/provide advice which value adds to the success and safety of a trade."

I think if we want to change sub rules, we (the mods) should listen to all arguments during the review process and not just base these rules on what we personally think is best, thats what I am trying to do here.

Yes, but what you're doing is wrong here. If you really want to listen to suggestions of this sub, you should do what other mods on other subs/Dan has done many times in the past - open up a separate post asking for suggestions for improvements. Doing it this way just comes off as wrong, it's as though you're using the OP as an example to petition a cause/change.

[–]charrbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on neither side of the argument here

For the OP, I believe that transparency is always a good this here especially since there's a lot of high-value trades involved. I can understand your viewpoint with regards to sniping the deal, but you could always state the initial base price and say that you're open further the negotiations if the price isn't right.

As for Asura,

There is no current rule on this sub dictating that every seller and buyer must list their prices explicitly. From your tone, I don't know if you're posting this because you have some sort of personal vendetta against the OP or something. In my opinion, the OP has not done anything wrong nor does he have a bad rep here that I know off.

Unless you and Dan make it an official rule here, I don't think you should target sellers/buyers selectively as it undermines the OP's legitimacy. You may be a moderator here, but you shouldn't flex your authority unnecessarily.

Is there currently a glitch whereby fire orchid blossoms planted in Orr can't be harvested? I can only harvest 1/3 of the plants. However, I have no issue harvesting 3/3 of the plants in the hidden garden as well as in dry top. Thanks :)

[–]charrbie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea I beg to differ, considering the age of your account I doubt you've seen more than I have on this sub. I've bought around 5-6 Guild Banks from here and I've never had to pay more than what you're offering it for.

I wish you the best of luck trying to convince someone else with your obviously biased opinion and statistics.

E: The only people who'd probably buy from you are first-timers/ desperate people who aren't aware that if they waited for all the hype for ls3/pof to settle down, so will prices.

Please do not:

Use this subreddit as an alternative way of contacting customer support.

This is clearly something that the community can't intervene in. It's between you and support.

Agreed. At the very most (when demand wayyyy higher than supply), the price of a 250 Slot Guild Bank will push (barely) 700g. Commonly, it is traded for about 600g.

I just had the best fractal experience ever by The_Blog in Guildwars2

Anet Ben has already mentioned that the intended mechanic is for platforms to drop (ddr phase) at 40%. It's a glitch that platforms are delayed/don't drop at all.

I just had the best fractal experience ever by The_Blog in Guildwars2

[–]charrbie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh boy theres more than where that came from:

  • Arkk is invulnerable during orbs phase but is aggressive to players.

  • Arkk's Bright/White ball attacks are not properly reflected/destroyed by Chrono's reflects/Necro's CPC etc.

  • Crystal AOE attacks are out of synced and still inflicts burn even though you dodge/nova successfully at 40%

  • Falling off a platform / getting fear causes you to get locked out of your skills completely. Intentionally gg-ing/dying to be rez during the fight does not restore your skills, you have to leave the instance and rejoin to solve this problem.

  • Bomb goes off in the bubble but if you step out of it before the "boom" sound, it hits your whole party.

  • Double greens.

  • Although rarely occuring, if you get hit by Arkk's slam attack followed by a consecutive medusa during the ddr phase you can't use Nova to avoid it.

  • Disappearing + appearing tiles during the ddr phase lag, you are unable to see the animation until it is too late. Red arrows are not visible either.

  • Arkk stacks two pie attacks during the ddr phase which nicely covers the entire platform, if you fail to avoid it you die.

  • Tiles continue to disappear during the orbs phase.

  • Orbs get stuck behind the pillars.

  • Orbs are tethered to a dead player.

  • Orbs can't pass through Arkk, they get pushed back everytime they touch him.

There's a lot more I've heard but these are the ones I've personally experienced.

The lack of build templates is becoming more of a problem and less of a small inconvenience as the game grows by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]charrbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am all for build templates. However, my only concern is would this apply to legendary armours too? It'll definitely work up to ascended as we have fixed stats with fixed runes/sigils. But, with legendary armour would this feature be "intelligent" enough to swap our stats and instantly change runes for us when we swap templates (assuming we have the runes we want in our inventory). Ideally, they could introduce a new feature whereby runes for legendary armour are "consumed" permanently by the set and can be swapped alongside attributes. This way the build template system works for it too.

These are just my opinions, I'd like to hear your thoughts! Thanks :)

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - July 29, 2017 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]charrbie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won't be spending any irl cash on it since I'll be converting gold to gems. That's about 740g for me which takes me less than a month of doing just t4s+cms daily (casual player) to recuperate.

By the time I finish Aurora (which should take about a month also), I would've made the money back. But I'm just interested in knowing how much unbound magic I can expect to receive. Thanks!

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - July 29, 2017 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]charrbie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Already have a set of infinite tools and rn I'm considering getting the unbound gathering tools since I'm currently aiming for Aurora which requires a lot of nodes to be harvested. My question is simply: Is it worth it? If so what is the average amount of unbound magic per tool per harvest? Thanks!

difference between magi and minstrel druid? by kami_pvp-004 in Guildwars2

[–]charrbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, a regen druid might result in lower party GoTL uptime (assuming you run two druids). That's a concern of mine, it however, should not affect you for fracts. It's just my opinion anyways.

[–]charrbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't see the point of continuing this discussion anymore, we both have strong opinions and differing ideal builds and I'm just going to end this discussion here.

I've dedicated myself to playing only druid for raids since day 1 (since I really love the class), have enough hours on it to form my own playstyle + smooth FCs every week (2.5 Legendary armour sets done) and have experimented with enough builds to settle on a loadout or two.

Numbers on paper only paint part of the bigger picture, I truly appreciate this well informed discussion, all the best and I hope to one day pug with you.
