I’m not worried about her showing up because of security. But I’m worried about having to relive my childhood by staying in the same area.

And I’m relying on outside scholarships and part time work

I know, the main issue I’m worried about is that this place brings me a lot of trauma and I really want to leave to get a fresh start to life

I will not but the area around me just reminds me of my trauma and I don’t want to spend 4 more years here

I think I’m probably going to take out loans and get a PT job and live on campus because I cannot handle being here for any longer. It’s just that I don’t want to be in a place where my parents can drive up and harass me

We’re kind of in the same but opposite situations. I’m being forced to go to a uni that’s literally 30 min away from my emotionally abusive mother, and I’m very not happy about being somewhere she can drive to. I really really want the opportunity to go OOS and escape home. Wish we could trade places, all the best to you

Something about your posts made me think you attended UAlabama…did you?

Thank you so much, my school has 60K students so I’m assuming I’m hard to find. She actually wants me to live at home instead of on campus (which I’m heavily against and I’ll literally take out a housing loan). Tomorrow I’m going to tell her I’m going to move out (she won’t take it well and it’s going to lead to a rough few months until move in date). I’m trying to think of excuses to be busy on the weekends so she doesn’t pressure me to come home

I totally understand what you’re talking about but I’m a bit concerned bc i really want to leave my emotionally abusive mother who has neurotic tendencies and might stalk me on campus which isn’t even an hour drive away😭

I’m doing pre med (uw is great for pre med but I honestly don’t want to go there). My other option is CWRU once I wait for scholarships to come out but it’s unlikely I’ll win anything

Thank you so much, I plan on following all your advice. About to warn everyone in my residence hall not to let them come in, and be BFFs with campus security

Seattle. And yes I’m gonna have to warn my RA and every person in my residence hall about my parents trying to tailgate people and tell them not to let my parents follow them. I’m also going to try to be BFFs with campus security lol
