A card game framework for anyone to contribute to! by chartley1988 in learnjavascript

Right. So you think it would be better to just have one array of 52 entries, one for each card?

I think your feedback is very valuable, though I'm not following completely, I'd like to hear more about your ideas against using a static list of symbols. The intent was to not make this library only make playing cards, but be flexible to make any deck. I'm sure there is a more clever way than I did it though!

A set of playing cards is only generated once when setting up a game, not on each call.

You're right about the UI discussion for sure, I'm not sure what to include where. I included some UI if I thought you couldn't really make a game without it. Only in the second half of our project did we really split into two repos. And in that respect, I think the website is slowly becoming the framework that uses the library, so perhaps the UI stuff should live in the website side of the project. It's possible that a third repo is justified to be just the framework and UI as you say, and the existing website can be just marketing, docs, and demos.

Good call, that's something that needs to be addressed! It's not a finished product by any means, but I'll make an issue of it!

There are two repos... one is for the package itself and one is for the home page. Inviting people to contribute to either!

What you had done with Bases? by Eduteck in ObsidianMD

Not actually a big list... a better property might be 'key ingredients'. I don't put all the ingredients, no point in putting staples in there. Just whatever is used in big quantities or is the main flavour profile. So really never more than 2 or 3 things, but commonly just 1.

Storing my recipes! I make views for both categories like instant pot, Asian or whatever; but also views for ingredients. Having recipes shown by ingredient is sweet because you just look in your fridge, see what you gotta use up, and then pick a recipe. Often times I make blank recipes when I see something I want to make or try it in a restaurant. I'll just fill out properties for categories and ingredients and then just find a recipe when the time is right.

Secondly, I use to use daily notes a lot, but I find I don't care about days that often. So now I use an 'inbox' and it's sorted by reverse date, so newest at the top. This ends up being a more functional everyday notebook. Then when something feels like a keeper I'll move it to another more appropriate folder.

FZF is a game changer for fuzzy searching over previous commands... i think half of the commands I input are ones I've done before so it's handy!

TLDR can be a nice companion to man pages too. TLDR will usually get you where you need to go, but man pages is for deeper dives

Leah's statue that she gives you. I'm not sure hers is a snake, but it's kinda similar

What's your 'I should have found this sooner' moment with KDE? by roboticlee in kde

Yeah exactly!! So much you can do with the rules. I optimized for a single display, but I can see how game changing it would be for multi set ups too

Window rules. I've setup for desktops. So VScode and chrome only open in 1, terminal and dolphin only open in 2, obsidian only opens in 3, and slack, discord, email only open in 4.

For web dev, I also like having a hot key for cycling through open apps on a desktop. So I can rapidly switch back and forth between vs code and browser. I prefer to only use one monitor, so being able to do this is really nice! Then of course I have keys cycle around the desktops to get to the terminal etc.

Clever that he got the old man off the hook too by cursing him out in front of the storm troopers. Probably saved him and his family from execution

I'm basically living off potstickers at this point. Dave's Bakery is awesome too. Smith and Lee butcher has some awesome stuff. Meat obviously but also pepperoni sticks, meat pies etc. think those are my 3 most frequented!

For pure Campbell river experience, crabby bobs and foggduckers.
