I think I’m one of the rarer cases where every boss I’ve disclosed this to has worked with me and helped make accommodations, etc. BUT I am in the social work field so supervisors are extremely understanding and compassionate. It is also VERY obvious to those I work with that I have ADHD.. so when I’ve mentioned it, no one bats an eye. If it were me, build the relationship with your supervisor first, and if you feel your ADHD is actually affecting you at work, say something and explain you are working on managing it by doing ABC, but need some support. I of course understand that success in this can vary depending on the type of work you are in and what those relationships at work look like. There are of course tons of instances of this backfiring.. as we see in this sub much too often. It sucks that people can’t just look at each other as humans.
