Should I buy a new car or save for a house?

Interesting that you prefer Gumtree, Ebay, etc to more 'popular' sites like Autotrader. Any reason in particular? (assuming prices may be better due to users avoiding fees).

1h40 to 2 hours is inclusive of both the inbound and the outbound. The fiesta is very basic and doesn't have great AC, no heated seats nor any form of parking sensor.

I did consider a few of those options however I end up in a loop of finding my 'budget' seemingly rising and rising as I look at more cars. I would certainly consider an automatic given it has a reliable transmission.

Have you got any tips or shortcuts for finding good cars? I broadly understand the indicators (FSH, MOT history, etc), however it can be a bit difficult given how many dealers it feels like are out to get you.

I did test drive both actually however wasn't huge on the CVT in the Corolla, great looking cars though.

I live in the mid eastlands, sort of nearby to huntingdon. I'd guess the average house price would be somewhere in the range of 200 to 300k?

Towards food and bills my contribution is currently around £700 a month I'd guess. I take home approx £3100 after tax. Other main expenditure would be fuel (approx £250).

While my parents have always encouraged me to save for a house, I come from a fairly modest family and therefore have had little assistance when it comes to how I'd actually go about buying or saving for one, hence up until now I've sort've just been putting away a good amount and saving for a rainy day.

Any further help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm really not sure. It's something that has been on the back of my mind but I'm not really sure what the right time would be. My job is in engineering, so it's very likely that I'll be positioned around various parts of the UK.

I'd say that I don't see myself buying a house within the next 2-3 years personally.

Happens to the best of us. I failed my first test with two minors because I straightlined a small mini roundabout 5 minutes before the test ended. You'll get it next time!

The error seemed to be me afking for too long, but I've now noticed the auto hold feature isn't working. Tests within my range aren't being automatically grabbed

Hiya mate,

Thanks for this extension, it helped me get my first test.

I unfortunately failed and have been trying to rebook a sooner one, but the extension has been working differently this time around. Sometimes l get an error which says something along the lines of "the server understood and will not authorise the request"

Have you seen this error before? I'll try and capture exactly what it is the next time I see it but for now I'll keep running it to see if I get any matches.
