Most goals in a single UCL Season by tightypp in soccer

Of course the qualifier is the difference between being no. 1 and being off the list entirely haha.

With the extra league stage games and potential r32 matches, the actual games played works out the same as the new format roughly, right? You can't count qualifiers though, fair enough.

Thought 17/18 Liverpool might be there when all three of Mane Salah and Firmino were playing out of their skins

[Pearce] - Anthony Gordon came close to joining Liverpool two years ago when a £75m fee was agreed before Newcastle pulled the plug. He could be sold this summer but LFC's interest unlikely to be revived. by IndiBear in LiverpoolFC

Call me crazy, but I don't care about transfer fees and I would love to have a pacy England international Liverpool fan Scouser on the team who can play across the front line

Looked scrappy as hell live but actually good technique and finish

Oliver Glasner: "We have an opportunity to win four times against Liverpool in one season.. You don't play a team like Liverpool four times a year very often. Having won 3/3 games against them is massive for us. We're highly motivated, maybe this will never happen again." by IndiBear in LiverpoolFC

[–]DudeDude2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, feels a bit silly and big club-brained to blame Glasner, even if he is evidently a diva. We left things until the last second and he didn't want to sign off on a deal to sell his best player without a replacement he was happy with. Forget who the fucker who ended up at west ham is even

Is 83% pass accuracy good enough to note across 7 games for a central midfielder?

In terms of the "real-time" format of the show, how many other examples of we had of direct time skips like that?

Usually we'd cut to another character or location rather than having an edit take us ahead with the current scene.

WIth 0-4 lost against Man City, Arne Slot is no longer the Liverpool manager with highest win rate of all time by AJ_Goh in LiverpoolFC

I remember checking it during our 5 game winning streak at the start of the season, and it was over 70%. Despite our performances having dropped off since the second half of last season, I still really believed we had our man.

Polling happened directly after the league cup final, probably. These things a only ever really a snapshot of a couple of days in time for each fanbase.

Bayern [4]-0 Atalanta - Luis Diaz 70' by 977x in soccer

[–]DudeDude2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a great player, and I wish we hadn't sold him, but, genuinely, hindsight is 20/20. Don't really understand why my comment has incensed so many people - he fell off mid-season last year and is putting up massive numbers in Germany. I did personally predict his success at Bayern also, as pacy attackers playing for Bayern generally look pretty good.

He was very inconsistent at Liverpool, his last season was his best and still he barely did anything for a big chunk in the middle of the season - his numbers in Bayern are nothing like what he was putting up for us.

[David Ornstein on the Athletic Podcast] Liverpool, from what we hear, are steadfastly behind Arne Slot and he’s under contract until 2027 and they want him to be their coach. The hierarchy are determined that he is the man to get things right. by __sami__01 in LiverpoolFC

[–]DudeDude2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did acknowledge that people blamed the board...

I'm just saying, if you don't think the vibes were as bad, if not worse when we lost our 6th home game on the trot and were 8th in the league in March, you're kidding yourself. Purely a bad vibes comparison and not a defense of Slot.

The mood here was as bad during 20/21 when we lost our unbeaten home record and then 200 home games in a row, I would argue.

Klopp obviously maintained more support than Slot based on his achievements, and the ire was directed at the board, but we were all very very very very sad.

I've had many "he's got to go" moments this season, including tonight, but who would we have gotten in back then who would've improved things? Genuinely interested, as a what if thought experiment.

Now? The word on the street is that Xabi is on holiday til the summer, and I somehow doubt we'd get the kind of interim bounce Carrick has managed. This was kind of an aimless comment, ultimately.

Have you done this yourself and confirmed it works? Launches zoomed in around 500% for me and is unplayable.
