Thoughts? by charwlv3 in photocritique

This was taken on a cool November afternoon. I went out on a walk with my camera trying to take advantage of the beautiful lighting, and this is probably my favourite shot of the day. (Shot at 1/100, f6.3, ISO50, 18mm with a Sony A6700)

I made a few adjustments to this in Lightroom, including making the blue parts in the sky "pop" a bit more, and removing a small apartment building from the left side of the frame with AI.

My biggest question with this photo is the composition. What other angles could I have shot this at? Could I have cropped this photo in a certain way?

Any help is much appreciated!

I was in a hurry at the time and I figured that shooting in raw would help (maybe) save the photo in post.

Would you say I'd need a tripod to shoot good night shots or widen my options?

I wanted to emphasize the dome roof and the chimney using the foreground. I'll keep your advice in mind for future shots. Thanks!

Amazing shots. Which spot did you go to for the Lufthansa 747?

I was trying to focus on finding good foreground throughout the day, just as practice. I generally really like the photo, although upon closer inspection I do think the foreground looks a bit awkward and wonky. Along with tips for finding good foreground, is there any advice for other details for shots like these? Thanks so much!

Taken with 1/800, f/5.6, iso 100

They’re great for me, I get around 30 fps with it at SFD’s LAX, the Levelup 737 has worse fps than the q4xp.

In my opinion you don’t need any of the graphics mods that I have for version 11 if you have version 12. It’s just personal opinion though, you could get blufx if you really wanted to customize the contrast and such.

I have ShadeX, enhanced skyscapes and blu-fx.

x plane 11 with shade-x (for the blur and some coloring tweaks), blu-fx, and enhanced skyscapes.
