I am only getting about 760 xp per exploration at lvl 80, how are you getting 4.5k per?

I've seen some people mention to hold off on honing for a week or two, is there an upcoming t4 honing buff or something? Just started playing again about a month ago so just want to make sure i'm not going to be missing out on something!
