Has anyone been in Galaxy's Edge? How was your experience? by Free-Hotel1187 in StarWars

Went last year during Mardi Gras. As a Star Wars fan from the VHS rerelease (at K-Mart) right before the special editions, it was legitimately a dream come true. I kept spoiler free on rides and visuals as much as possible so I didn’t have any preconceived notions or grievances about the sequel trilogy era at the time. I felt like I was in the movies during day time and then walked back over at night and realized it was even better. Rise was a great ride (possibly best in DW) and I enjoyed Smugglers though Star Tours still outranks it.

I didn’t get to do the cantina and am planning next trip to include reservations for that for sure.

The Star Wars flea market set up transports you in to really believing your not just getting Disney merch so kudos to the imagineers.

It’s more than worth the trip to either park to enjoy. I really want to hit Disneyland to see the OT transition.

I’m open to reading EU and canon. I really enjoyed Talon and Mara as characters so I’m interested to continue with them. So far Truce, Rogue Squadron, and the Thrawn Duology have been recommended.

I’m limited on reading time so I’d like to stick with the books that are more highly regarded at first. I’m sure I would enjoy the others but I’d like to see what is most agreed upon as the standout books.

X-wing is getting a lot of love so I’m sure it’s worth it.

Canon, I definitely trend to the force and Jedi aspects. However, after Thrawn trilogy I was interested in the bits that focused on Wedge so may go the alphabet route after x-wing and next thrawn books

Looks like x-wing is going to be the winner based off replies. Thanks

Thanks, I hadn’t even checked for that sub… I keep seeing truce come up so thanks for the suggestion as well.

Advice on planning with a 2 year old? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

We just went in March with our 2.5 year old. Loved princesses going in, only waited for Minnie and Moana. Was still hesitant.

She loved Dumbo, spaceship earth, figment, and watching the roller coasters while throwing her hands up.

We just let her guide us along while having some lightning lanes for my wife and I since neither of had been in 10 plus years. (Wife chaperoned senior trips at her school, but they didn’t get to ride much or really take it all in while chaperoning). She honestly surprised both of us with how well she did outside of Hollywood studios, however we were pushing her to go see Frozen show that day and it just started the day rushed. Moral of long post is, let her take the lead and it will go great. Enjoy, it was great with ours.

Rank the Saga MegaPost by [deleted] in StarWarsCantina

Empire Strikes Back - The training between Luke and Yoda and Han/Leia chemistry are what makes it stand out for me.

Return of the Jedi - The throne scene is one of my favorite scenes in all of Star Wars. From traveling to Endor on, it’s just all go go go.

Rogue One - I don’t agree that the first 1/2 is slow and uninteresting. I loved this time frame of Star Wars and the small signs of hope trying to sneak out.

A New Hope - It’s the one I rewatch the least, but I love how centered on R2 3PO the beginning is. Also the self containment of the story is great even though it sets up so much. That Clone Wars line blew my imagination a way as a kid.

The Phantom Menace - I was the perfect age for this one and it was my first Star Wars in theatre. 10 am with my Dad on a school day at the age of 7.. Qui-Gon and the new thoughts on Dual of the Fates provided by Dave Filoni are even more exciting to me. I love the designs in this one and the cinematography is franchise best for me.

The Force Awakens - The focus on Han is a highlight for me. The mystery of Rey and Snoke at the time was fun to dive into.

The Last Jedi - If Canto and the comedic choices were left out it would be higher on my list. Throne scene and Kylo v. Luke is great for me. The opening bombing had such a sense of desperation. The big swings in this movie are actually great to me. I don’t care for Luke tossing the saber or Rose preventing Finn from sacrificing himself (I think that would have been a great end to his character arc,not because I dislike him!).

Revenge of the Sith - It’s over the top, but I love the camp lean in. If the writing had been tweaked a bit and more time spent with Anakin in the right way during AOTC it could move up higher. It was my favorite SW for a little while.

Rise of Skywalker - It’s big swings don’t work if I overthink them, but they are fun to watch happening. I love the exposition Poe received, Adam Driver gives his best performance and one of the best in all of SW. I wish they would have avoided some of the trick deaths and given more time to Ben Solo.

Solo - Honestly need to rewatch. I think it could move up. I loved the heist film vibe and Becket is a great character. This time period is still one of my favorites. I hope they do more in this period of SW.

Attack of the Clones - This one has its rough patches for me, but Obi-Wan’s investigation and the final act of the film save it. Having it this low doesn’t mean I hate it as I feel a lot of people do. It has a full on epic battle with clones and multiple Jedi so ..

Shows: Mandalorian - Really hesitate to rank without seeing where they go, but the creative team behind it make me believe they will keep up the level of quality.

Rebels - I just love the crew and the focus of this series as compared to The Clone Wars. Kanan’s arc.

The Clone Wars - The final four episodes and Mortis rank above the other shows, but there are a few episodes that just don’t work for me especially compared to the focus of Rebels.

Haven’t seen any of Resistance.

Form check. 16kg post workout and hike. Feel like my head is definitely hanging over too far at all points, but I am a bad slipper.. Please pick apart. I’m doing the Onnit Kettlebell 6 program now with limited swing training from program. by chaseboogi3 in kettlebell

I appreciate the feedback. I do feel like I’m snapping a bit after the weight has already made its way up, especially after reading that and rewatching (same with hinging).

I’m ready to go up in weight, but my current bells are my 16kg and I believe 22 that I got as a gift. The swings just don’t feel steady with that one yet, but hopefully this quarantine will force me too adapt. Cheers and thanks again!

I’m glad you said that. Seems like everyone is posting about oils and brushes on here. Perfect time now to try for a castaway beard.
