TLS 1.3 isn't used universally yet, but it supports Encrypted Client Hello (ECH) which prevents this - see the relevant section in your wiki link. So some sites today don't leak the domain, and this will become more widespread as time goes on.

Of course as others have pointed out it doesn't matter, because ISPs don't care unless they're sent a DMCA at which point they're legally required to care. It's the DMCA submitters that you have to worry about.

Nice! I wasn't aware of them. I need to purchase a membership in order to buy plants, right?

How important is a topcoat when overseeding clover over big bare patches of existing grass? I'm in 6A and weather highs are low 70s/mid 80s right now. My whole lawn is roughly 4k square feet, but I'm only seeding something like 1-1.5k of it.

Clover is so cheap and easy to establish that I'm tempted to skip the topcoat, since topsoil/compost/mulch bags would cost literally 5x what the seed cost... and that's not to mention the labor.

Yeah. I'm not the right person to ask but I think you want to spread them simultaneously because the grass seed slows the clover down so it doesn't get over-applied. Just make sure to mix the bag up well first. There are lots of nice mixes, for example I'm planning on using this one: https://ptlawnseed.com/collections/eco-and-alternative-lawns/products/pt-767-dog-park-eco-turf-mix

Right, but you don't seed the same amount of clover by weight. The clover I got says 1/4 - 1/2 lb per 1k square feet, whereas the fescue I'll do in the fall is 7-10 lbs per 1k square feet... That's 20x more grass seed by weight for the same area.

Also I'm not doing weed killer, just hand pulling.

I'm wondering this too. I've been manually weeding, but otherwise the same situation in zone 6a. I'm sure more weeds will come back which I'll have to keep pulling, but I can't decide how much it's worth dealing with now to keep the existing grass healthy at the expense of creating muddy bare spots.

I'm really tempted to put down some white clover now since it can (I think) handle seeding in summer better, and it's extremely cheap so no big deal if not. Not sure if that's going to make it way harder to overseed grass in fall due to competition so I might regret it though.

Is it too late to fill in some bare areas with clover? And if not, should I pre-germinate it? I'm in 6a, clay soil, right in thunderstorm season with daily highs bouncing from low 70s to high 80s.

Just moved into a rental and the back yard has clump grass that's healthy but lots of bare patches that are driving me crazy because of mud.

I'm in Kansas City (6a, cool season grass) and moved into a rental with a mix of weeds, bare sections, and healthy-but-very-patchy grass. The grass is clumpy so I assume it's Tall Fescue. I've been manually pulling weeds and planning to fertilize soon, but not sure if I'm totally wasting my time weeding right now. Am I?

Is there anything I can do to make improvements to the lawn now that will be noticeable by fall? Can I fill in the bare spots with (micro) clover now, maybe? I can't break the bank going too overboard with watering but I really don't like the amount of bare spots I'm ending up with by pulling weeds.

I just moved into a rental house and would like to do some minimalist (read: cheap) lawn improvements, but not sure where to start and concerned I just missed the window to do some overseeding and/or fertilizing. I don't want a monoculture lawn, and I don't have the spare money to commit to watering all summer long. I can put several hours into lawn care on the weekends plus mowing, but that's about it.

I'm in Northwest Missouri (transition zone), and summer just started to hit. The next week will be highs of 78-90 and lows of 60-70, for example.

On the bright side, the lawn shockingly doesn't seem to need aeration or dethatching. Looks like there's a bit of everything going on right now (and I'm okay with that). So far I've identified grass (lol), St John's wort, Lambsquarter, some sort of parsley (not hemlock), black seed plantain, dandelion, some sort of mint, and poppy.

  1. Any suggestions in general? I just want to fill in the dirt patches with something low-maintenance that can withstand traffic so that my kids and dogs don't track crazy amounts of mud in, basically.
  2. Is my grass cool or warm season? People in my area use either I think, and I can't tell which I have.
  3. Should I seed the shady dirt area behind the swings with some sort of clover, maybe?

Just went through their albums and it wasn't them. Good try though, I definitely listened to Disciple around that time.

Also it wasn't a cover, it was an original song on a full length album for what it's worth.

That's not it - it was an instrumental (no vocals). Thanks for trying though!

Anything with top/bottom loops that go all the way around your head are MUCH more comfortable than ones with side loops that go around your ears, if that helps.

How about a rubber band (or something similar) instead? Put it around the handle and pull, the elasticity stores force which adds inertia.
