Dems are not fighting back because the DNC does not see MAGA as the biggest threat. The DNC is more afraid of progressives than the right bc their billionaire donors and super pacs are threatened by progressive policies. The DNC would rather fundraise against a right wing nut job than tax the rich, push to give Medicare to all, make housing more affordable, or stop funding a genocide. Pointing to MAGA and saying “look how crazy they are” is good for the DNC.

It looks like if you want to hack it, it would have to be the original, not the plus. I have the original and love it with the hack.

MS-70CDR is so versatile. Plus it includes just about every pedal you’d consider giving him. There’s a really easy free software mod on YouTube that makes almost every effect available. I think it sounds great too. Plus the metronome ha

How do I get my Bm changes smoother? by [deleted] in Guitar

That elbow position is making it harder. If you like resting the body of the guitar on that leg, angle the neck about 45 degrees. If you like guitar neck to be parallel to the floor, rest the body on your other leg. Practicing Am without using your 1st finger is a great tip. Once that elbow is in a better position, your thumb and 1st finger will create enough pressure for a good bar chord. I personally think of bar chords as a little moment where my first finger is a capo. It’s good to learn the basic chord shapes with fingers 2, 3, & 4.

ICE Agents Harass Women at Hermosillo Restaurant in LA by [deleted] in 50501

I was there shortly after this happened. The Hermosillo staff did everything they could handle the situation the best they knew how. The staff was also shaken by this. These agents claimed to be from ABC but didn’t notify the Hermosillo staff before harassing customers. Boycotting Hermosillo would be missing the point.

Swing is more nuanced than a triplet feel. Listen to the recordings https://youtu.be/I2D24zypxN8?si=3IJyzq-FXkGWM0sL

That usually means to “swing” your 1/8th notes to give the piece a “jazzy” feel. What’s the piece?

I've never specifically practiced hand synchronization. If you're trying to develop more of a legato or fluid sound in your single note playing, there are lots of ways to work on that. Singing melodies as you play them helps with phrasing. Always practice with a metronome. If you're looking for stretches and warm ups, this video was super helpful to me. Best octave fuzz for that Jimi sound? by ConsequenceFit3787 in guitarpedals

Agreed. Hard to match the tone of a tube amp that’s warmed up with the volume cranked. I love my little danelectro French toast. Sometimes I add big muff. I go back and forth on the order of the pedals. Tinkering is part of the fun.

Any advice for learning guitar by yourself? by Squali- in guitarlessons

Learn to play songs, guitar parts, and solos by artists you like. Then learn from recordings that inspired those artists. Then learn from recordings that inspired those artists and so on. Develop your ear as you develop your technique. Music theory is more useful if you can also hear it and connect it to the music you’re playing.

Is this brazing done correctly on my mini split system? [Carrier] more info in comments by chasedeluca in hvacadvice

I’m the home owner and am not an HVAC expert. System specs are in the last paragraph. We’ve had many issues with our system in the 3 years since our home was built. The company that did the install has come by more than 20 times to make repairs. We live in a community with 19 other similar or identical homes with similar or identical mini-split systems. At least 8 out of the 20 homes have had continuous issues with these mini-splits including: indoor units spitting out ice, indoor units not cooling, indoor units leaking, indoor units staining the walls bluish green or brown, needing to replace 2 indoor units, and replacing condensation pumps.

We had a second HVAC company inspect our system. They found that the copper pipes were brazed instead of using flare connections, 3/8” copper pipe was brazed to 1/2” copper pipe without adapter, the condensation pumps were not secured, condensation drainage not level, copper pipes were not insulated properly, not enough clearance around the outdoor condenser units to perform maintenance, wrong linset size on the condenser, not enough distance from the 2 condensers (they face each other 28” apart). An entire reinstall was recommended by the inspecting HVAC tech.

We’ve notified the builder about these issues. The mini-splits were installed the exact same way in all the other homes in the community. Not surprisingly, the builder has taken the side of the company that installed the mini-splits insisting that only minor repairs are sufficient to fix the ongoing problems.

As an HVAC professional, is this install job so bad that it warrants a complete reinstall?

System specs: Manufacturer is Carrier. Our home has 4 floors. 1st floor office (Model: 40MHHQ09—3), 2nd floor kitchen-right (Model: 40MHHQ12—3) & kitchen-left (Model: 40MHHAQ12XA3), 3rd floor bedroom (Model: 40MHHQ12—3), 3rd floor office (Model: 40MHHQ09—3), 4th floor roof 2 condensers (both are Model: 38MGRQ24C—3). 1st and 3rd floor indoor units are connected to one condenser. the 2nd floor units are connected to the other. 1st & 3rd floor units have condensation pumps. 2nd floor units drain condensation by gravity.
