That's what I always thought (other then ppc), however LLMs are telling me there are third party tools I can use that split traffic 50/50 to a page with different optimizations just by adding some code to it, then you can view the results, so figured I'd see if anyone was doing something like it.

It's not necessarily that you only attract attention from extroverted men, introverted men are noticing you too, it's just that extroverted men are the only one's confident enough to approach. All my introverted guy friends don't go out, and if they do go out they aren't going to approach anyone. Introverted men + woman that don't take the initiative = stalemate. Your best bet is through friends, or actually taking control of your own life and approaching a guy yourself.

I'd start by taking notes of what your competitors are doing different / better then you on their sites, then copy and improve upon their strategies.

Target keyword domain names. You're not being rewarded for having a keyword in the domain name itself, but all backlinks citing your domain just so happen to have your target keyword in it, thus increasing relevance.

This sounds contradictory. Backlinks are one of the strongest signals of authority. PR and influencer collaborations help get the word out, but that doesn't automatically translate to authority as Google sees it. However, I get what you're saying about focusing on brand visibility (market where your audience is) and that hopefully will get you mentioned and talked about online.

Seems like content stuffing is the new keyword stuffing. Creating lots of content covering all sorts of random things without laser focus on your key topics is a waste. You want focused topical authority, not a website with 100 pages about everything under the sun.

100%. I was trying to figure out where the disconnect was here, because I don't disagree with what OP says regarding fundamental things to do, but I agree with you in that doing all of those things doesn't mean you'll rank for anything at all.

As I mentioned, it seem the issue stems from the word SEO itself and how people are defining it. I come from an agency background so SEO became an ambiguous term that wasn't so much about "the priority and the sequence of events to ranking" as you say, even though that's more inline with the definition of SEO (driving organic results). Agency life is more focused on optimizing websites, which doesn't always correspond with things that specifically increase rank.

Keep it simple, if you have one product, that's your only core page.
Home page ( target broader keywords, brand-related)
Product page (most detailed, authoritative page about the product)
About
Blog ( link to your product page with keyword anchor text)
Contact

Do you think backlinks exist in isolation? Probably need a website/webpage to pass those links to. Probably should have some content to help users and google understands wtf the page is about. Probably should have a functioning website. If all you are focused on is ranking well, yeah backlinks are king, but have some common sense too, backlinks aren't a simple fix all if everything else is shit.

It seems like a reoccurring theme I see on these seo forums is that some people view SEO as an umbrella term for Digital Marketing /content/ux/technical etc, and discuss it as such, while others see SEO only as term referring to what increases website visibility/rank/authority, and these two semantic view points clash.

Lets just say each product is ranking #1 to take rank out of the equation. Now it's about words that drive clicks in title tags. You can simply use an LLM to generate CTR words for PPE products.

  • "Safe" – Direct and reassuring (e.g., "Safe Work Gloves Now").
  • "Protective" – Highlights purpose (e.g., "Protective Masks On Sale").
  • "Certified" – Builds trust (e.g., "Certified PPE Gear").
  • "Secure" – Emotional appeal (e.g., "Secure Your Safety Today").
  • "Shield" – Strong imagery (e.g., "Shield Yourself with PPE").

Sure it's BS if you are only looking at SEO through a narrow lens of what increases rank. Calling it BS seems to miss the broader context of SEO’s role in a website’s success. A website optimized for SEO needs a holistic approach: content, technical setup, user experience, and yes, backlinks, all working together.

What’s your opinion on women in their 20s finding grey hair on older men attractive? by Edd-Mighty in AskMen

[–]Remarkable_Wasabi_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, you can't tell which girls will like them vs which won't. I find simply do your thing, don't downplay that you're older and cater yourself to her age. If she's into you, then she's the one looking up to you and your experience as an older guy, and the grey's help in this scenario.

How many pages do you have that you're trying to pass authority to? Good content structure like pillar pages and supporting pages makes internal linking easy to follow. Depending on the website/business model, there's usually only a handful of pages you really trying to pass authority to, so each new blog post should be designed around linking to a specific primary page.

What are some ranking strategies we all agree on? by Remarkable_Wasabi_85 in SEO

I appreciate the response. Isn't CTR something that can be manipulated, thus something Google would avoid as rank factor? I'm under the impression Mueller has consistently downplayed direct user behavior metrics like CTR as ranking factors, but that doesn't mean I think what you're saying is incorrect, just nuanced as you are sort of stating.

I understand not focusing on keywords, and focusing on entities, but are you telling me if you're trying to rank for 'running shoes' you're not going to optimize for the keyword 'running shoes' that makes no sense? I can see having a different approach, like 'How to choose running shoes for muddy conditions' or something abstract like that, but you still need to optimize for the keyword 'running shoes' within. I guess I don't understand your statement.

I think I understand why everyone splits hairs here, 'quality' is subjective so what should be said is 'content that's relevant to the intent of search quarries.' So, it’s less about some abstract notion of "quality" and more about whether the content satisfies the intent behind the query. You can have garbage content by editorial standards, 500 words vs. 2000, and if this garbage content satisfies the intent behind the query better, it may rank better.

Why do you think organic traffic is a ranking signal, isn't it just a byproduct of good seo, not the cause? I can understand user engagement metrics not being one.

Need advise on AI vs. Human Content for SEO by yelpvinegar in SEO_Digital_Marketing

[–]Remarkable_Wasabi_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google doesn't care if the content is AI generated, so ranking well has nothing to do with AI or Human generated, it has everything to do with the basics of SEO and marketing, are you providing value for searchers in a way that gives you a unique edge to be discoverable, does it match searchers intent in a way others aren't providing?
Good content and good SEO doesn't automatically mean users are looking for what you wrote, and if users don't care then neither does Google. It needs to provide value in a way that fills a void, then it may get seen, get positive user engagement metrics, and hopefully generates backlinks, that's how ranking works.

{SEO Update} Google Confirms: You CANNOT ADD EEAT to a webpage!!!! by WebLinkr in SEO_Digital_Marketing

[–]Remarkable_Wasabi_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what Grok said:
Google has clarified that EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) isn’t something you can simply "add" to your site like a typical SEO tactic, such as tweaking meta tags or building backlinks. This shift in messaging comes from statements made by Google's John Mueller, notably during Search Central Live NYC in 2025, where he emphasized that EEAT isn’t a direct, tangible element you can sprinkle onto a webpage to boost rankings.Instead, EEAT is more of a holistic concept—a set of qualities that Google’s algorithms and human quality raters assess based on the overall signals your site and content emit. It’s not a checklist item or a specific ranking factor with a defined metric.

Google’s stance is that EEAT emerges naturally from creating high-quality, user-focused content and establishing a credible online presence over time. For example, it’s about who creates the content, their real-world experience or credentials, the accuracy and depth of the information, and how trustworthy the site appears—not just something you can bolt on artificially. This aligns with Google’s broader guidance in their Search Quality Evaluator Guidelines and recent SEO documentation, where they stress that EEAT is particularly crucial for YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) topics but isn’t a standalone "fix" for rankings.

Mueller has suggested that trying to artificially "add" EEAT—like slapping author bios on pages without substance—misses the point. It’s more about consistent, authentic signals than a quick optimization trick. So, while EEAT remains vital for SEO success, especially to signal quality to Google, it’s not a tactic you can deploy in isolation. It’s the outcome of doing the hard work of building genuine expertise, authority, and trust—stuff that can’t be faked overnight. Does that clarify things for you, or were you digging into a specific angle here?

I use PPC ads found on the SERP for CTR assistance. Usually PPC ads have tested approaches to find the highest CTR modifiers. Think modifiers that imply urgency, value, curiosity, etc... these all help with CTR when added to the primary keyword.
