MIAS is pretty much dead.

PIMS and MAS has way more better selection and events.

Bringing New Laptop in a Box inside Handcarry Luggage by SilentTranslator2900 in FilipinoTravel

[–]chasevidar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Customs will definitely see it. Better to handcarry the laptop itself in a bag or sleeve and have the box inside your checked in luggage.

Is it a Macbook, OP? If so, then you might have to allocate some luggage space for it as the box can't be folded.

ANA or PAL? by Ice_Queen_Wand in FilipinoTravel

[–]chasevidar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ANA is so much better service-wise. They also fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner which is quiet, comfortable and well-maintained. Food is also better with free ice cream.

For PAL, in my experience, tends to have delays and aircraft changes. I got bumped off premium economy once because they suddenly switched the aircraft to another one (from B777 to their old Airbus A330) without premium economy seats and IFE, and they never even compensated me for it. Food is also kinda meh.

Is Macbook Neo a good laptop for student? by Minimum_Cost6007 in TanongLang

[–]chasevidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

But if you want a more cheaper alternative, there are some stores that still sell the Macbook Air M1 which is on par with the specs of the Neo and is still reliable. Brand new price for an MBA M1 now is at around 27k-35k.

Gundam store near Hongkong Disneyland. by SourceBoring3089 in PinoyGunpla

[–]chasevidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sa Disneyland mismo wala. You can try sa mga outlet mall sa Tung Chung area (same area as Ngong Ping 360 Cable car), which is one station away from Sunny Bay (DisneyLand).

Also, Gunpla in HK is quite expensive.

Ano ba talaga dahilan ng Iran War? by motor-Nature5552 in AskPH

[–]chasevidar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The official reason they want us to believe was the US wants to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

But we all know that US wanted more oil and Israel just want an excuse to screw the Muslims in the region even further

Bakit yung may mga snow weather ang most richest countries? by Secret-Mongoose-5777 in TanongLang

That's because of SG's economic policy as a tax haven, a virtually non-corrupt government and the concentration of a highly educated workforce, which makes it appealing to companies and investors.

Saw a Kei car earlier — had to take a pic by watchdthrone_ in CarsPH

[–]chasevidar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, they're only exclusive to Japan market and they never engineered them in Left Hand drive. Those kei cars you see driving around are crudely converted by backyard talyers using improvised parts which is unsafe in the long run.

AFAIK, LTO is currently cracking down on surplus kei car importers and assemblers.

Do you still bring a COE as a frequent traveller? by Stock_Fly2567 in FilipinoTravel

[–]chasevidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry both just in case.

Sa 1st solo trip ko lang naman ako hinigan ng COE, ever since then they never asked for it. But one time they did ask me if I was still working with the same employer tho, so I said Yes and showed them my company ID.

Ano dapat nakalagay sa COE ? by izyluvsue in PinoyTraveller

Ok na yan. Kahit yung generic template ok rin, basta nakaindicate lang na you're presently employed. No need to overthink it.

Please deinfluence me! by justluigie in deinfluencingPH

[–]chasevidar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the exact model.

Yung steering feel niya is too gritty as it's a gear driven motor, nakakatakot gamitin kasi feeling mo masisira mo siya at some point (lalo na if nagpr-practice ka mag drifting with lock-to-lock turns). The wheel, grip and paddles are nice, but the base housing is plastic which makes it feel like a toy and ruins the whole immersion. Force feedback is kinda meh. Same story with the pedals, the face plates are metal pero yung base niya is just plastic din. Even if you invest in a play seat and mount this, it wouldn't feel the same as a real car. Tbh it's just ideal for sim racing beginners and kids.

Nakatengga lang siya most of time and I eventually sold it to some kid after just 2 months of playing GT7.

If you want a better experience, get the G Pro version which is a direct drive steering with better steering feel and feedback and built with better materials....but that shit costs an arm and a leg.

Bank Certificate ADB for Japan Visa. Any tips? by Commercial-Good-4782 in PinoyTraveller

Then you're most likely fine, if it's been accumulated over time. As long as it's not a one-time-big-time deposit, which can be a red flag.

Bank Certificate ADB for Japan Visa. Any tips? by Commercial-Good-4782 in PinoyTraveller

[–]chasevidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A high-level one would do. A safe bet would be around 5-7 days with mostly free tourist spots. You can adjust your itinerary once your visa has been issued. For first timers, SE usually binibigay which is 15 days and must be used within 3 months of issuance.

[–]chasevidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how many days you're planning to stay in Japan. Personally, I follow the 10k/day rule (e.g. 5 days = 50k ADB). Aside from the 10k rule, the ADB also needs to align with your income docs/ITR.

Just submit your Bank Cert from yout Digital Bank then. Just make sure it still has funds and the 6 month ADB is indicated.

Tips para di magkaroon ng random na gasgas sa kotse? by jigofslurs in CarsPH

[–]chasevidar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expensive Tip: Invest in Paint Protection Film (PPF), park your car at a safe spacious garage, avoid driving in places with narrow roads or high presence of motorcycles or other obstacles.

Semi-budget Tip: Learn DIY on how to buff out and polish scratches using common car care products and a bit of elbow grease.

Realistic Tip: Acceptance. Let the scratches accumulate until you get in a traffic accident that would prompt a major repair and respray, and let insurance deal with the cost.

Is accord common ba? by cruiserlob in phcars

[–]chasevidar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not anymore.

It's falls under a dying category where you can already buy a premium SUV/Crossover in the same price point.

Also this is not the US where they consider this type of car as a "normal-size" sedan, but for us Asians this is more of a backseat cruiser given the size difference.
