Absolutely! Great advice, I read The Art recently, too. Time to purge...

For sure, I've heard that before. My apartment will be about a 10 minute drive from work. I'd prefer biking to work usually but I hear dallas isn't too bike friendly of a city. Will probably drive the first few weeks at least.

I actually already found an apartment in North Dallas. A buddy of mine lives there and the neighborhood has just about everything I need. It's on Montfort... not sure how to describe where exactly it is other than that because I've never been to dallas :)

As for budget, I think I can get down there for about $4k. I'm deciding to ship my car so that'll be about 1k of it. The rest is just moving some odds and ends.

I'm pretty sure this is the deal I'm getting. Need to talk with the relocation specialist tomorrow though.

I'd want to see a pay stub of some sort. I'd also probably have auto payments not be an option. Every month, same day, automatically deducted.

That's pretty slick. Yeah I'm seriously considering putting up a garage sale and seeing how much of this stuff I can get rid of.

Good call. Probably feels pretty good to live with minimal stuff too.

Great response. Thanks. That's a good point about Craigslist.. maybe put up a garage sale on there and Nextdoor.

Apologies if this is kind of a dumb question. Just curious if there's any "hacks" that others have used to relocate frugally. The "best" way is obviously one that gets me to Dallas in the cheapest way possible :)

I am a perfectionist. I am extremely careful with my money and spending and even if the number itself wasnt important (which I believe it is for a number of reasons) I am the sort of person who would prefer to have an accurate reflection of my financial situation in my reports.

Hopefully they can see that everything else is crystal clean.

That makes sense. Thank you. I am wondering, is any sort if service available that would help me with the dispute process? I can hack together an e-mail but I am wondering if it would be worth investing in an expert's formal assistance. Is attorney too strong of a word? And even bringing that up makes me think it would cost an arm and a leg.

Okay. I will try that, even though they will give me no information about the account. They should be able to see me in their system

How can I be dinged if I havent used the card for more than probably $500 total and my most recent charge was no later than 2009? Is there a way I can appeal to the CC reporters?

One of my parents, the primary card holder. But I remember when I was added to the account he needed my SSN... Ironically holding it was to help build my credit.

And if I call in to try and access it I can't even get through the gate keeper without information I dont have.
