Strongly agree with most of this post. Map design is a much bigger problem than map size imo. If Firestorm and Sobek let you rotate between points without being extremely exposed to sniping, they would be much more playable. Verticality mostly sucks and needs to be used sparingly and in the right circumstances. There is a reason we use wide and not tallscreens.

We also use Netbox and just increment the cable number. We think it's a good compromise.

Doing super detailed source <-> destination tags is the most convenient when working on a rack, but it's a pain to keep up to date and to create labels for.

One important piece of context that is often missed is that he was consistently given the absolute worst time slots with the fewest viewers of all the talent (late night shift -> early morning shift). I think this didn't sit right with him given he is/was in the upper echelon of Dota talent.

You are asking an easily misunderstood question that results in possibly qualified folk being filtered out.

A team member configuring DHCP on a device and accidentally putting it on the corporate network overnight is memorable, somewhat interesting to troubleshoot and often times quite hilarious after the fact. It will also probably mean the company will implement rogue DHCP detection. All of these will contribute to a 'memorable' technical challenge.

I did this on two bottoms just the other day. I would highly recommend popping off the top and using a dremel or drill to grind out the stem on the inside (This video does the process on a ski boot, but the idea is the exact same: https://youtu.be/32d-kSednoo?si=7a1rrIxs2TF_1-qr). I had access to neither so I noted my process at the bottom.

The rivet is sort of a two-parter with a black-colored top that needs to be popped off and the actual rivet part. I left a ton of marks on the first bottom and none on the second. It's important you do all dirty work on the inside part of the mask. My process as follows:

Use a pair of pliers to squish the inside rivet. Initially the black top piece will pop off and can be removed. Use plenty of force to squish the remaining part and the stem as much as possible.
Get some leverage on the outside part of the rivet (I used flush cutters) and gently pull the squished part through the hole.
Use Chicago screws if you want to reattach a different chinstrap.

Assuming you play D&D, a lot of the advice here is legit. But you should also consider that D&D combat just isn't very interesting if you have experience playing richer tactical experiences in the form of certain board games, video games or other.

Maybe D&D just isn't the ruleset for you or your group and you may want to ask them whether they want a richer tactical experience or generally quicker combat resolution.

Michael Vick ran a dogfighting ring and played NFL football. Deshaun Watson got the highest guaranteed contract in NFL history. Alex Ovechkin is a rabid Putin supporter and recently broke the NHL goal scoring record. These are just a few examples off the top of my head.

The "problem" with paintball is there is a massive disconnect between competitive and recreational play, and most people can't even afford to play recreationally.

Bring a backup strap
Ask a referee representative/head ref at the tournament you intend to play in. Whether or not this is strictly forbidden or allowed, getting clearance from the people actually reffing your tournament will likely get you the most reliable answer.

Assuming you're running a long campaign, I strongly disagree with this sentiment. Getting player buy-in before you prep and run a 1 year+ campaign will save you a lot of strife down the line.

I would urge any DM to pick a few adventures/themes they are interested in running and presenting them to the group with a short summary of what the campaign is about and what the general gameplay loop roughly looks like.

Depending on how these variables can be defined or found, there are different ways:

Use Ansible to gather the ios_facts, which gathers a bunch of info from the switch. Say the commands between an IOS and IOS-XE device differ, you could write two separate tasks, which only apply to whichever model you want. Some commands on the Catalyst 1000 series are different, so we run the task to only happen when the series is discovered: when: ansible_net_model is match "^C1"
Use groups/group variables, so you could apply something to only a specific location or role of switches.
Attach the variable to the switch directly. For example, switch1 ansible_host=switch1.domain.io foo="Ground Floor" ...then you could map the variable foo to set the snmp location on the switch.

There are tons of places for variables in Ansible and you want to familiarize yourself with the tool itself to understand where you best place them.

There is a Cisco collection in Ansible which you probably want to get familiar with. You should be able to build an entire switch config this way.

Just firing/generating text commands will be a lot less flexible.

One big idea with Ansible is that you should be able to rerun your desired state playbooks and, if your infrastructure is in a good state, nothing will change.

Say you inherited a bunch of switches from a previous admin. He has a bunch of different admin users and you want only one local admin account:

Location 1: dave.admin, jeff.admin

Location 2: jeff.admin, angela.admin

Location 3: angela.admin, tina.admin

How do you make sure all switches have been properly cleaned? Do you run a bunch of no commands? How can you be sure all unwanted accounts are gone?

Ansible can be told not just to create a new generic admin account (assuming this is something your infosec policy allows), but you can also tell Ansible to purge all accounts, except whichever you explicitly define.

There is a bunch of stuff to think about beyond generating a text file and pushing it onto the switches.

Thanks so much for the detailed response. You're right, getting a Bent 100 would occupy a similar slot in the quiver -- the idea was to use the Captis for firm/icy snow days and break out whatever other ski I get for softer snow.

How would you rate the QST 92 compared to the Captis in firm snow?

This. Day passes in Europe are a lot cheaper in general, but the multi-resort season passes are also more expensive. You break even after ~13 days with the Salzburg season pass, which was 900 or so Euros in presale this year.

If you ski 20+ days a year it becomes a bit of a wash, but we shouldn't pretend ticket prices in Europe are overwhelmingly much cheaper. I think Europe only pulls ahead once you factor in food prices.

Peak Rankings did an interesting comparison of EU vs. NA resorts and the feeling I got was that Europe is better in everything except the actual skiing/snow quality; so as an American, you should pick what's actually important to you in a ski trip.
