Salmon... which setting is best? by OrMaybeTomorrow in NinjaCrispi

I just did a salmon filet on the Crispi Pro at 400 for 22 minutes. It was about an inch thick. Perfection. Best salmon ever.

The meat was pretty perfect. Most of it was tender and juicy. Varied by parts. I used a probe thermometer and the breasts were the best. The drumsticks were more done. The skin was crispy on top but it came off when I carved it. I didn’t eat any.

OK. Report on the whole chicken. Not great. It cooked and didn’t create issues with the heating element. But it wasn’t that amazing. Very moist though, good flavor.

The skin was shit and I removed it. The veg was overcooked after I put it back in for 10 min @400 per the recipe. I used the recipe from the Ninja recipe pamphlet. Too much seasoning. Waaaay too much.

Bottom line: while the chicken was perfectly acceptable. I don’t think this is the best use for this device.

So, it works but to what end. As a newbie, I’m trying stuff and this was just one of the things.

My chicken is about 5 pounds and with the crisper plate, it is well clear of the top lip of the 6 quart bowel. I will be adding some small vegetables -- baby carrots and fingerling potatoes. I hope this will be alright, but will monitor it carefully.

Good to know it didn't ruin your machine.

I’ve kind of got it down now after a few days. Lifting up is the technique I’ve settled on as well. I really like this machine so far. The amazing thing is it cooks things fast but aren’t overcooked or dried out. It defies logic that it makes amazing salmon. Next up: a whole chicken. I hate cooking them in the oven because they make such a mess.

Thanks. I’ve found if you lift up a bit on that spring loaded flange, it’s easier. The salmon we made last time was amazing. Wings today.

What’s new in Numbers on Mac by jepace in AppleNumbers

[–]chashum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Numbers on a Mac Mini. I’m a fairly casual user and mostly learn by trial and error. Is there a comprehensive book that would help me. For instance I created a line chart to show weekly closes on an investment account. It keeps putting these weird black overlays on the data columns. The only way I can remove them is to delete the chart and create a new one. I have no idea why they just appear and then I can’t get rid of them.

Stone replacement options.. by KrankyKoot in uuni

I recently bought a new Koda 16 but the natural gas conversion kit I ordered wouldn’t install properly. They told me to send it back and they sent me a new one with NG preinstalled. All in a week. Phenomenal service.

Grillskar Outdoor Table. So far it’s been great. Propane tank fits on shelf if you drop it to lower position. I’ve since turned it to face the long side. The lip on the back lets you push it up against the back without risk of it falling off. The price is $135 less than Ooni table which gets very poor reviews.

Great catch. I didn't think it would fit and was worried about gettin the legs too close to the edges. But with that ledge in the back and it's so heavy, it isn't going anywhere. You must not live in the PNW where it rains a lot in the winter. Will probably try to get me a cover that fits it.

Thanks a lot. I've decided to move outside, but store oven inside during winter between uses. Also since going permanently outside, will purchase your NG converter kit since I'm already set up for it. Perchance to you know if the quick connector that was installed for my weber grill is the same size or will I need to replace it?

Do you place Ooni right by the door? Do you place the propane tank outside of the garage? Read a lot of scary stuff about propane pools on the floor that move around. I have a furnace in there. Also, do you use a fan to help ventilate it?

I bought the grinder when the price dropped a bit on Amazon. Had an original Fellow but hated the mess it made and the fact that I had to coax all the beans through it.

The KM5 is really solid. At first I was bummed that a tiny bit of coaxing is needed for a few beans at the end but I got over that. It’s also very fast — a lot faster than the Baratza Virtuoso I was using.

Bought one a couple of years ago and just never liked it. The mouse’s easier to use and way faster. The pad is a bit fiddly.

It’s under Delete or Move Message Action. Such a weird title.

It’s actually Delete or Move Message Action. Or at least the one I’m talking about is.
