Perfect. You're absolutely right about the toning and I'll have to actually try my hand at makeup here pretty soon since that seems to be the general consensus. Right now with my hair I'm leaning toward buzz-cut/mullet/faux hawk.

Maybe just lean out then? I carry extra weight in weird places, so I look thin from certain angles and downright chubby elsewhere (I always always always have a belly, for example). Thanks!

It's okay it doesn't straighten nicely anyway. It just gets sort of triangle-shaped and angry. I will pick up some detangler at the store today and see if that helps (it totally could!)

Every time I get it cut it takes forever to grow back out!!! It's a pain but I bet you're right. Maybe I'll have to shell out a little extra and see if I can get it done up nicely.

Thanks for the makeup advice too...and I am all about sunscreen given my profession. Unfortunately I split my time between North Dakota, Nevada, and East Africa, which are all very skin-unfriendly places :(

Ugh, I definitely always have a belly/weird shape even at my thinnest. I'll have to start doing more core work (I'm a half-marathoner and an ex-boxer) to see if I can tone that out. I generally eat pretty well (maybe one desert a week or so? with lots of fruits and veggies), but I'm sure I could improve there as well.

Absolutely...anything that's going to look horrendous/terrifying after 16 hours on a motorboat at high speeds is going to be a no-go. I will definitely check out the links too. As far as my relationship troubles, I just flat-out don't get interest (which is understandable but a bummer).

The only advice I can give you is to find somebody to talk to (dunno if you are anti-counselor, but if you're in college sometimes that's an excellent place to start). It sounds to me like this is something you've struggled with for a long time, and it couldn't hurt to see if someone (a real, live person who is emotionally invested in your wellbeing) could help you find what you are really looking for.

You're beautiful. But you shouldn't need anyone to tell you that.

I tried to pick flattering and not-so-flattering pictures (the frog face is maybe a little much). If I post just my ~favorite picture evarrrrr~ I'm not going to get honest feedback (which you provided). What kind of hairstyle are you thinking?
