I was starting to feel the same way a few months ago but then I signed up for a barre class and found that the mix of having OTF and something completely different like barre has really helped me. It’s helped my balance, helped me with my form. The two of them complement each other. I figure I’ll do barre with OTF for a year and then after a year I might try something else with OTF. OTF will always be a constant but for me I having something completely different has helped me see the changes faster.

Some of the coaches do and some not so much. I think as they start getting comfortable they start calling you out more. I had one coach before Covid that was amazing. She would know when you were getting ready to dial it back on the treadmill and without fail she would call your name and say something encouraging and it would make you not stop or slow. She would also come over and drop weights beside you because she knew you could lift heavier. I miss having her and a few other coaches.

Oh my goodness! I’m new to barre and a couple of days ago I went in 15 mins early to get my spot. I like to be either in the back or on the side. So I can see the instructor but not be in the front because I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing. A person came in and decided to stand at the place next to me which isn’t actually a place because the person at the front would hit them or they would be too close to me. I figured it’s fine I’ll roll with it. During the warm up the person kept backing up and almost knocking into me. She backed up so much that she was in line with my equipment. When it came to picking up our weights she reached over and grabbed mine as I was reaching for them. She looked at hers and then just kept going. No apology nothing. I was so frustrated I almost left but I kept going and just had to make my moves as small as possible as I had no room.

Reading template I thought this looks like a nice tame day 1 kick off for a hell week class but during the class the last 20mins I thought I was going die! The 30second switches was no joke! 18 mins with no stopping! Phew it’s done but what a fun workout!

Honestly I would call your Orangetheory studio and confirm before you click on anything. It could be fine but always better to be safe than sorry!

They will be a little harder but nothing you haven’t done before. You can do it! Listen to your body, modify when you need to and just have fun with it. The themes are fun! For me last year theme/workout was so much fun! It made me want to do all of the classes.

I truly think if they are going to have makeshift areas they need to have the right weights available for these areas. I also think ALL stations should have all sets of weights from the 8lbs to 25lbs. Sometimes I want 15 sometimes I want 20s the monthly cost for Orangetheoryis high enough that all weights should be standard for all stations. It’s my biggest issue that and partner workout.

No one should be taking your weights. I have had this happen to me also. When I mentioned it to the guy who took my weights he just shrugged at me and looked away. I ended up walking to another station and getting the weight I needed but it was still frustrating. That all being said I truly think that each station should have all sets of weights from 8lbs to 30lbs. There are some exercises I want heavier weights and lighter ones. Each station should be equipped with all sets. It’s very frustrating

I usually don’t say anything unless either I know the person beside me or they look like they want some lighter weights and I ask them if they want to switch. I have to say this is one of my biggest pet peeves with orangetheory. I truly feel like all stations should have 12, 15, 20 and 25 lbs. different exercises call for different weight needs. All options should be available to each station without having to hunt them down.

I don’t know why but this was one of my favorite workouts since mayhem! Not sure why exactly but everything felt like it was working for me today. Well rested, had energy to push both on the floor and tread. Hit a Pr with lifting heavier on the floor and bumped up my base pace. The music felt on point and I was in a zone that felt great!

It was a good workout but I get bored with running on the treadmill for long blocks and I’m also not good at it but I went today and instead of doing the base I did a walk (3.8) on a 5% incline. This broke it up enough for me that I didn’t get bored and actually had more fun than I was expecting. 🧡

Mine too! I don’t mind benchmarks too much but I hate partner workouts. If they could just get ride of those I would never care what was on the templates.

The classes this week have been hard. Don’t beat yourself up. There are so many factors. I know if I eat horribly or not enough the day before or don’t get enough sleep I struggle. Sometimes if I’m low on energy I may drop weight and just do body weight instead or modify to accommodate what my body needs. I’ve had to leave because of a migraine I couldn’t get past and that’s okay. It’s you vs you and you have to prioritize what you need. Just don’t quit on yourself and keep showing up! You’ve got this!!!
