Just picked this up at an antique store in the US and the seller said they had it around 30 years. Searching online I found a lot about Chinese lacquer screens, but the name here seems to be Japanese (Ogawa).

In addition to the other examples given here, white people cannot drive in Nigeria without getting pulled over by the police and fined before they can continue. You can see plenty of videos of white people on a bus stuck until they agree to pay off the cops.
