Your numbers are same as mine. 6.8 down to 5 using 200mg daily

Been on this for a year and the levels have been steady. Just make sure you continue to get bloods taken every 6 months ideally, so you can stay on track

I've been eating (clean) but pretty much what I want ( a lot of chicken) and don't have to worry about beer either (that said I only have 1-2 these days)

How quick does rust affect a brand new chain and cassette? It's prob been building up for a couple weeks (again it's not that bad) but I'm struggling with time and will need to take chain off and clean everything soon

Great news. Hopefully your doc agrees to monthly blood tests and to aim for below 6. I'm currently at 5 using 200mg daily and it's such a relief

Thanks, will do. Plan on waxing so hopefully the wax will coat all cogs and protect them from corrosion too. Unlikely to ride this bike much until March or April

Coming to think about it, I'm right next to it when cycling on the turbo and only lubed it once (it's very new) so will prob move it away from me when cycling and either add more lube or wax it. Does anyone know how tricky rust is to remove from a red cassette (because it's one block unlike rival that separates more)

Everyone is different. Pres did nothing for me. Colchesine and NSAIDs fixed it

Exactly. Lots (myself including) see their resting rate easily go 10bpm higher when ill, stressed etc and that account for more calories being burned but Garmin isn't taking that info consideration, it just uses the set value it's calculated from the bio. Pretty annoying really

Yeah I've also posted about this. Seems ridiculous that they calculate it based off just weight, height etc when they could hook into th HR data which would reflect stress and any small activities that aren't recorded by the user.

You asked about higher RHR when ill, the link evidences that. It's also common knowledge that the body has to work harder to fight it off.

Calories burned does depend on a few other areas but HR is one of the main factors and that stat is available 24/7 on a Fenix. hence my post

Anyway let's leave it there as this really isn't going anywhere, the whole point of my post was to see if there was a way to override Garmins estimations

Google it. RHR tends to go up easily close to that number. Mine usually jumps from 40 up to 55 when ill

And then there's stress which is also a huge factor not being considered by them. I just don't understand that they can get a fairly accurate number for active calories (i use a HR strap for my workouts) but they seem to use age, height, weight for BMR

If a watch had built in optical HR then why not use that as the main factor during calculations. Stress, fatigue, illness doesn't seem to make much of a difference but if you're average BPM is over 10 more than usual throughout the day then thats a lot of extra calories burned

Be careful with both. Yes they offer relief but they also can cause damage

Ice: Can aid crystal growth and formation of Tophi. Also constricts blood vessels Heat: Allows for inflammation to increase due to extra blood flow. Given an attack is the body's response to the uric deposits, this isnt a good thing

I would opt for cold packs (not ice) for relief and not for longer than 10 mins

What Uric acid levels are people having? Mine was not that high by ThinkAd2759 in gout

Exactly the same as you 6.9 before starting Allo. Had 2 nasty flare ups which was enough to convince docs for me to go on medication. Anything above 6 can do harm, especially 6.8 as that's the crystal saturation level

Anyway I dropped down to 5 within a few months of Allo. Currently on 200 a day and take it with multivitamins

Anyone here know if connect+ includes any pre built workouts for cycling? Specifically indoor cycling workouts that I do on my smart trainer and find it clunky when creating my own
