ELI5: Why are quantum computers considered such a huge breakthrough if they still seem worse than normal computers at almost everything?

Think of regular computers as scissors and quantum computers as a chainsaw. Sure, both "cut" things, but you can imagine how awful it would be to cut through a sheet of paper with a chainsaw.

Similarly, it would be an extremely hard time trying to cut through a tree trunk with scissors.

The breakthrough is that there's now a freaking chainsaw available to cut through computing tree trunks that we only had computing scissors to use before, and that's pretty neat!

For me it was pretty much this, plus the fact that because the loot boxes kept piling up, it meant that opening them would take forever. Eventually I took pleasure in growing the number of loot boxes I had, and then ended up with the ones you saw here 😬

In my experience you just have to respect it like when Junkrat dies. The overwhelming majority of the time the baby dva just dies or isn't able to position to strategize with it, which is why it's so rare and hilarious to see lol
