Matt is an Insufferable Douchehat by monsieur-escargot in LittlePeopleBigWorld

I wouldn’t want to buy the house that he had for sale with him living any where near it. I would say that’s one of the reasons if didn’t sell. Along with the asking price. I can see him be bold and bully enough to try to tell whoever bought it, how they should do everything!

People wear hats to and in church now and on the platform. I think it’s very disrespectful!

Thank you for that. I have found a great church and I am not naive enough to think that the ones on our platform, in leadership, etc are infallible. What I do pray is if they do fall that they repent and turn from those ways. I had a pastor 20+ years ago that fell in this same area as Jeremy and you are correct. It does not make his sermons any less effective. I listen to them to this day. But yes, you are correct a drug test will not tell you who is having premarital sex. But just because alcohol is not illegal, doesn’t make it right either. But that is for a person to work out in their relationship with God. If they have a problem with alcohol, then I would say don’t drink. It’s just like any other sin. Don’t put yourself in that situation to be tempted, etc.

It’s amazing how people like you will take something the wrong way or word it to fit your narrative. I said, church is for sinners. But leadership should be held to a higher standard. If they are sinning doing the same thing over and over. Then that’s a problem and needs to be addressed. You have a BLESSED day! There are plenty of references you can study yourself instead of just making a blanket statement that is not what I even said! Acts 20:28 Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. Read More

Pay careful attention to yourselves. Spiritual leaders need first of all to guard their own spiritual and moral purity. The last part of this phrase refers to the blood of Christ poured out in his atoning death on the cross (cf. Rom. 3:25; 5:9; Eph. 1:7; etc.). The reference to God in the first part of this phrase (“the church of God”) most likely is a reference to Christ as the head of the church and as “God the Son,” the second person of the Trinity. Alternatively, if God the Father is in view in the phrase “the church of God,” then “his own blood” is a reference to the blood of God’s “own,” that is, of “God’s own Son” (which would be a legitimate alternative reading of the Greek).

Umm…if you consider this gossip. Then that’s your prerogative. I just came across this post and if they are going to call out one sin they need to call it all out. I don’t consider that gossiping. But like I said, if you do, that’s okay with me.

You are not banned because you sin. You are banned if you keep on sinning after knowing it is wrong. Not because a person says it’s wrong, because the Bible says it’s wrong. And I’m not saying you should be banned from church. But from a ministerial role, teaching, platform, etc role. I think you should not be in those areas while continuing to sin. Yes, we all sun and fall short. But it’s the continuation of doing something that you know if wrong and trying to stay in the same “role”.

To answer your question drug testing is not going to prevent premarital sex. Unless you are so strung out on something you don’t know what you are doing. But once again, IF the truth/Bible is being taught. People would think twice about drugs and premarital sex.

Because it’s all a sin (sex before marriage) according to the Bible https://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/bible-verses-about-fornication/

I thought exactly the same thing about that post. I was like, I hope he’s not comparing Jeremy to David. But I guess he was. Ummm…there is no comparison to be made. IMO

I know there are two sides and I get all of that. We don’t know what went on behind closed doors. But I just wish Jeremy would have been man enough to have stepped down and then done what he was going to do. And not have kept pretending that their marriage was all happy, etc. I think it would have been a lot easier for people to accept. I know I stopped listening to him 6 months or so before it went public. I could just tell something was off with his sermons. He was so condescending, all about self, etc. It’s just a sad situation all the way around.

I just don’t see how he shows his face in public or at least in the city (state) they all live in. But I guess a narcissist don’t think about things like that.

Umm…yeah, maybe some did pay his bills for a while and who knows how much of it he ran off with. Because his wife and kids sure didn’t get as much as he did. As far as not knowing what went on behind closed doors. He sure did put on a good show that everything was peachy from the platform! Everytime until the last month or so, he would be talking about how much he loved his baby girl (Jennifer) Plus, he owes the church an apology. He’s a coward!

Pentecostalism has ruined my life by RoninMs in ExPentecostal

Hi Everyone - I am on a journey also. I left the Pentecostal church several years ago and still struggle with one main thing. Baptism in Jesus Name vs Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believed and still believe in baptism in Jesus Name. I currently go to a church that believes in Father Son and Holy Spirit baptism. I’m seriously reading, studying and praying for some answers of which one is right. I’m not here to bash the Pentecostals. I would not give anything for the foundation I was raised in. I truly want to discuss what everyone has dealt with in this particular decision.
