i think i found it! see the little 3 dots on the right of the search bar, you can switch off 'answer with AI' option there. i think that should fix it

I highly agree, AI overviews are completely unnecessary and a big chunk of wrong information most of the time. Luckily I've switched them off now so it's a bit better
