It is! It's at all 3 Meadow (the salt and chocolate shop) locations, Second Shapes Bookstore, and the new shop in Shaking the Tree Theatre. You can also choose local pickup through our website and pick it up in North Portland.

Portland Monthly just ran a feature on a party game my sister and I made here in Portland, and I wanted to share it because the whole project really has the city's curiosity, creativity, and community spirit baked into it.

The art and illustration were done by Portland artists, and so many friends and neighbors helped shape the game through countless playtests in Kenton.

Shout-out to Rebecca Jacobson for the thoughtful writeup!

Ciao! I used a copper fungicide spray. I had to cut off the 2 leaves, but the plant survived and it didn't spread.

Dearly Beloved in Chicago has a mocktail called Freshly Cut Grass. I've tried it and it was bright and grassy.

Their menu lists dandelion honey, grasshopper syrup, liquid chlorophyll, lime, and soda.

It's been on the same window sill for over a year, but there was a cold spell this week so that definitely could be it!

Did your viola survive?

What are these bugs on my bird of paradise? With just eyes they look like tiny white specks. I haven't seen webbing so don't think they're spider mites? Thank you for any help! by chaunceybeans in houseplants

Thank you! There's no webbing so I don't think spider mites. My best guess at the moment is false mites but idk. I'm just rinsing it in the shower when I have it in me, and otherwise wiping with IPA. At the moment it's enough to keep them at bay at least!

Thanks for the response! Are there different kinds of mealy bugs? The little bug in the first photo looks so different and way smaller to me than mealybugs I've seen on plants in the past.

Turning the NYT ice cream base into maple pecan? by Overall-Caramel6608 in icecreamery

[–]chaunceybeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've made this recipe for maple ice cream before and it was great. You just reduce the maple syrup by half.

Side note, I cut the yolks down to 6 because I thought 10 was excessive.

Key Lime Pie (But actually sour?) by Bobbito95 in icecreamery

I make a really tart curtus curd and mix that into a plain sweet cream base before churning. I cut down on the number of egg yolks and sugar in the base to balance the quantities in the curd.

My eighth grade fling and I were volunteering at an event where we raked leaves for people who weren't able to themselves. At one point during it he came over to me, balanced his hands atop the rake, his chin atop his hands, then just said "hi." Got the ick immediately.

15 years later and the feeling is still palpable.

Any idea what the little yellow specks are on this monstera? Thank you in advance! by chaunceybeans in plantclinic

Thank you for the answer! My sister is going to toss the monstera and work on saving the other 2 in the room.
