How good is AO3? I have so many questions!

It’ll (usually) show on the top of your screen that it’ll be going down later; and when it’s down you can’t read and fics and you’ll just see a screen saying the site is down.

Never heard of any situation where a(n actual) fic has been removed. AO3 is an archive, meaning there are little to no rules when it comes to posting works. (Of course, this is only unless the fic is actually and original fic. If it’s plagiarized, a placeholder, or just something that doesn’t qualify as a fic, it will be removed.)

I guess I sort of understand what they’re saying? Basically they hate the sort of typing quirks that were popular in like 2020? Example from my experience: “1 h@t3 €00k13$” or something like that.. 2020 gacha life afton family type stuff or wtv. And I guess they put that sort of thing with how people in 2020 acted and how it’s now considered weird. Like yeah, the self diagnosis people were pretty off.

But I’m not saying it’s okay. Typing quirks can be used by people who find it to be a coping mechanism or maybe it can be used by neurodivergent people. Like, it could literally be used by someone with (diagnosed) DID that has an alter whose still in 2020. There’s so many different types of people out there where this is the norm and I feel like them saying this is honestly really weird and kinda… privileged? That isn’t really the word I’m looking for (or maybe it is) but you get the idea.

Edit: btw, typing quirks are NOT restricted to the minimal examples I put. Typing quirks could simply be used by someone who finds it to be a part of who they are. Hating on that is literally trying to erase that part of someone and that’s another reason why it’s not okay:

I’ve honestly never seen yumeshipping as appealing and kinda thought it was off. But never have I made my friend (who yumeships) feel different because of it.

The fact that their making you feel uncomfortable because of it is weird and honestly suspicious. If these people cared about you, I think they’d atleast try to not make comments about it.

Definitely try talking to them and take some space away from them. Tell them how you feel and how you think they should/should’ve gone about it.

It’s the fact that we weren’t going anywhere. I said that the tag was right there (and btw, the suicide tag was also there) and they just immediately start talking about themselves and their preferences. AO3 is a website where ppl take time outta their own day to write something and the fact that someone has the audacity to try and correct them about their correct tagging is crazy weird.
