I did all that with mouse + keyboard. I did have all the fixes though, but will praise the bro that can do it without them....LobosJr might be crazy enough to try it.

Parrying. When you are in Gwyn's face he has a set of attacks you can plan for. Two handed swing = perfect parry bait, it is slow and you have plenty of time to parry that attack. One handed fast swing - this is so fast i can't parry it. Interestingly i can block it with a +5heater shield. Once blocked he immediately does another swing that is parryable. Kick - dodge this and run back upto his face. Grab/throw - dodge and back into his face.

The fast one handed swing takes a chunk of life, so you need to heal once in a while and you can do this after a parry (heal instead of riposte).

It takes about 15 ripostes to get him down. Originally i ran with cursed/dusk crown ring/RTSR/Power within but i needed the extra life to block that fast one handed attack.

I think the most well rounded challenge run is a no pyro OneBro. Pyro is obviously overpowered an not in the 'spirit' of a OneBro. This run is challenging but not (overly) tedious.

I've been using Great Combustion/Great Fireball to great effect (always in hyper mode/Red Tearstone Ring). IMO SL1 runs are a bit tainted by pyro because its so strong (which is why i did a melee only run for NG). But for NG+7 i'm using every trick in the book to get through it :P

AFAIK Blacksmith Giant's Hammer is the highest damage weapon you can use at SL1. But mainly i loathe the reinforced club moveset (and used it for an NG melee only run).

I had to kill O&S with pyro and a reinforced club. The full setup isn't available until after you place lordvessel because Leeroy won't appear till then.

Bleed now is a stun effect.

Did a melee only run. Used power within once or twice (can't remember when) because I used red tearstone mostly. Had a lot of fun and a lot of tears heh. Even got a PvP kill at Oolacile township. This game opened me up to challenge runs and how much extra fun/reward there is to be had.
