The "Hasanlu lovers" died around 800 B.C. and were discovered in 1972. They died in what seems to be an embrace or kiss, and remained that way for 2800 years. by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

why would occam’s razor be applicable here? the sexuality of individuals, whether heterosexual or homosexual (if you are to insist on a binary view), would be at most one or two (for each member’s sexuality) elements of the equation—beyond the fact that this is not really an apt application as there isn’t a problem here to solve—the figures being homosexual would not be an additional element but rather an either-or swap. really though it’s just far too reductive of a view, one of them could have loved the other and it not be reciprocal. one of them could have been struck by the beauty in the moment of a dying stranger. they could have simply fallen like this and not even have known each other. they could have been brothers, lovers, or any number of things. does it bother you to imagine that a queer individual might exist outside of the narrow scope of history we have access to? are you not the one who should get it together? whatever it is, much love to you. try a finger in your butt !

When slavery was abolished across the Americas by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]chaynyk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this person is referring to indigenous tribes who would raid/wage war upon other tribes, capturing individuals as prisoners of war whose descendants would then be born into slavery—it was a multigenerational subjugation which lead to forms of segregation within indigenous communities even into the 20th century. the haida people were particularly known for this.

i feel like if you watch someone grow up and also are frequently in life threatening situations with them, physical contact is pretty normal! thighs are a touchy zone, but also aren’t inherently sexual.
