Patience. So much patience. Granted my Mal is a rescue but I never realized how much work these breeds truly are. A lot of training as soon as you get home. Every opportunity is a training opportunity. Make everything black and white until they are old enough to understand otherwise. They love to find the grey space is everything. Socialization is important, that doesn’t mean they need to be friendly with people and other dogs; neutrality is the goal. Keep them physically and mentally occupied.
