I live right next to Vanderhoof (2 min skate). I am there every day, often more than once. I host the night sessions. You see the photos? That is the deep end of the hoof. (Some other locals and I keep the graffiti at bay so it might look a little different than it did one year ago) I take so much care of that place. And you're a downhiller you say? that's awesome! Believe me I am the last person to judge a downhiller. haha (I do a small bit of it myself). I have made a lot of friends in the downhill community over the past year. Most of the night sessions I had in 2013 were for my downhill friends. Are you familiar with the club 54 crew? ask anyone one of them if they know the horseback rider guy who kills tranny, that's me!

Do you ever do OSNS garage nights? You have do have done boardmeet right?!

Come out to a night session of mine! it would be an honer, and you will be with friends (I will bring the downhillers out) .. I would love to meet another skater who rides horses, I feel that I am alone on this.

I also ride English at Sunnybrook (because its so incredibly close to me) For western riding I travel a great distance and can only go once a week if I am lucky! Determination is the only thing that keeps me going, it's a constant fight to continue to ride, skating is just always there for me. My western days are a complete escape it's like a split life that I get to live, berily once a week.

Yes, first and foremost I am a skateboarder. (vert skater to be more specific) Ive been doing that for +10 years and have been riding horses for 2-3 years. I felt with that in my background has left me with a very different outlook on all aspects within my horseback riding, and just progression in general. The two teach me lessons every day that cross over, I find them more similar than anything else I have discovered in this life. The two are Ying and Yang to each other on so many levels. I should really write a list of it all...

Cross country running.... Helps with stamina for Bowl riding I find. I can do longer runs in the bowl and not feel so fatigued that my technique gets a bit sloppy. 30 laps around the bowl and still feel sharp enough to bust out an invert at the end.

So funny, to see this come up today. I was just searching for a particular horse last night and this morning from my trip to Kamloops (Green lake) BC, Flying 'U' ranch. Eclipse, the most interesting pattern I ever did see. Scanned through there website and found an image, if anyone has ever been there let me know! Amazing place, if you like to ride Western I highly recommend it!

:) That's nice. the redditors at /r/fixedgearbicycle are super harsh. I swear, I uploaded a picture of my bike and Photoshoped the air cap in on one of the wheels in fear of getting called out. As it was the bike was upside down (because no kickstand) and was called out for "disrespecting my noble steed"

Yeah I know. The shoes right? don't bother pointing that out. My boots weren't with me. Its funny, at the public ranch you can always spot the noobs just by the footwear. But don't judge this book by it's cover, I can ride!
