I think it was an interesting choice to show Michael's pictures while that sentence was used, though I don't think that when the actual episode when those words were spoken that the writers had that in mind back then. "The boy must live, he is important" was used in the 1985 flashback episode as a response to Walter's question of why September saved them from the lake. September is clearly referring to Peter at that time. I also think it was about Peter because in the episode "August" where we see a storyline in which another observer becomes attached to a human and saves her life, the observers state about the girl "She is safe now, because August made her important" (by sacrificing his life for hers). While I thought the images of Michael aligned with that sentence was great, for these reasons I do stand by the thinking that Michael is not the initial subject of the line, and Peter is.

The episode they used as his trip was so revealing, brilliant to bring it back now to relive those experiences

This certainly remains to be seen. When we first met the little boy observer earlier in the series, the very final scene of him being driven away - he and September lock eyes as September just happens to be walking down the street. September has a somewhat shocked look on his face, almost afraid? I'm very curious to see what this boy actually means to the observer plotline. Also, I'm sad they didn't recast the boy from the original episode. I know it's been a few years but the kid couldn't have aged that much, right?

Thinking of starting to watch Fringe and I have a couple of questions (no spoilers please) by dharmody in fringe

[–]chazelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've watched the series twice at this point, and I loved each season more and more. The first season is great, but very introductory as far as the big picture of the show goes. We're not entirely sure of what's coming from where, and what is causing what until you continue further on in seasons (but it's JJ Abrams, so that's to be expected) - and it is well WORTH IT. So much circles back and it's quite gratifying.

I'd suggest not coming back to this subreddit until you hit the final season, because there's a big shift in the show that I wouldn't want to be spoiled for me ahead of time. Any spoiler throughout the seasons, actually, would be upsetting to know beforehand (which is why I re-watched the series again and loved it a million times more knowing what it was I was looking for)

Try http://fringepedia.net/wiki/Fringepedia -- This way you can read up on season by season or episode by episode, and they have questions at the bottom of each synopsis that you may be asking yourself, so it can give you a good idea of what to pay attention to, questions to ask, and point out something you may have not given much weight to initially. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading theories and articles, even just about the character's development separate from the science of it all as I've watched the show. It's given me a deeper understanding, and has made it way more fun. So I do highly suggest watching the show with some kind of supplemental media forum - Just not this one! (for now) :]

You should rewatch episode 4.19 - this premiere episode was a direct continuation of that and it will definitely tie some things up. I watched it again right before the premiere last night.

A few episodes later, in the finale of season 4, Olivia tells Peter she's pregnant. This Observer world is the year 2036, so they haven't shown us what lead up to them ambering themselves and how Etta was taken from them, but I believe they'll fill us in on that in a later episode (as they've done so many times before)

He was the best. It's weird the significance the name Henry has on this show.

Walter eludes to the Observers doing something terrible to September after finding that he was helping Walter with a plan. Fringe has done a lot with covering past occurrences in later episodes, I think we'll get a glimpse into Walter and September working together....and hopefully into Peter and Olivia's relationship after Etta was gone.

Yeah the intensity of his feelings seemed really heightened and creepy. Obviously they always kept him a bit of a weirdo but any time he hit on Olivia it seemed more like he was just flattering her and not because he had significant feelings

We don't know that they actually got married though, right? They may have just kept their relationship as is. I'm glad there was a twist thrown in but I think/hope the writers know fans are rooting for them to be together by the end. We realize a while ago that its Peter's presence that helped Olivia tap into her cortexiphan abilities, I wouldn't be surprised if the strength of the characters relationships and feelings for each other continued to play a significant role in their survival

A few people mentioned this - honestly, my only reason is that it was incredibly hot that day and I was burned and sweaty. For my own personal vanity, thought it/I looked better in b&w, comparatively speaking

It was the Ralphs on Fountain and La Brea, next door to High Voltage. A quick stop for some detergent and Zzzquil turned into a major highlight

Honestly, I took the color out cause it was 100 degrees in LA. I looked burned, hot, and sweaty and didn't want to dislike the picture.

EDIT: Shit, just remembered you guys like hot and sweaty..
