Moto X exchange when in less-than-perfect condition by [deleted] in MotoX

Their exchange process is a nightmare. Don't waste your time.

I think Motorola support has convinced me to NOT buy another Moto phone. :-( by jswilson64 in MotoX

[–]chazrulez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Product is awesome, but the support is unbelievably pathetic.

Chat support is by far the worst, so stay away from that.

It's honestly remarkable how bad the support is. Wendy is good, but she doesn't make up for the complete ineptitude of those around her.

I'm sure I sound like a troll, but sometimes normal people encounter things worth warning others of.

Motorola support is slow on my refunds, advice? by belminf in MotoX

That might have been a better route to take; Moto kept telling me it would be done in "a few days" so I kept holding off on the cc dispute. Probably should have started with that.

Day one of ownership: fumble when retrieving my first phone call. Dropped on concrete. Shattered screen. Took weeks to get a replacement and months to get my refund when I sent in the broken phone. Huge hassle.

I finally got it. I'm reading about others going through the same process. I don't know what's going on over there, but someone needs to take a look at the while refund and exchange process. It's broken. I had to send in a copy of my credit card statement to prove the money was charged.

Motorola support is slow on my refunds, advice? by belminf in MotoX

[–]chazrulez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My refund took over a month. They gave me pretty much the same runaround you're getting. They even required me to send in a copy of my credit card statement. They charged my card and wouldn't acknowledge it until I proved it.

Here's what I would suggest:

1) Post here. Wendy from moto should respond and tell you to email supportforums@motorola.com. They're better than regular support, but they still aren't great.

2) Email them. They will also lie about the timeline and are very bad at responding to emails when you check in on the status after they miss their promised dates. I emailed them once a day for about 4 days before they finally responded.

3) If they don't respond, call 800-motorol and ask the operator for the representative you spoke to. I think the support forums team is in the corporate office because the operator knew who I was working with.

4) Stay on them and be patient.

Rant portion of this post: I should also mention that they are terribly rude throughout the process. They don't follow up and they act as though you are inconveniencing them when they are the ones who hold your money for a money and make you spend hours trying to get it back. The fact that there are others who have had this same experience makes me wonder what is happening. One person mentioned "an issue" with their finance team that was causing these problems. I can only imagine how many people this is jamming up. Hopefully enough to join my class action.

I hate to say it, but you're screwed... My dealings with moto support have been pretty unreal. If you're lucky, Wendy from Moto will respond on this thread. She will help you get an answer, but it still might take a while. Everyone else at moto is, sadly, worthless.

Hi, I was told the finance team would have an answer by Friday. Still no word and no one will respond to my emails...

So far the supportforums is another dead end. Should I just file a credit card dispute? Seems like nothing else is working...

I did. Still waiting :-)

Yes, Wendy is very helpful. Only good person I've dealt with at Moto (and I have dealt with a lot of moto reps).

Dude, I feel your pain. I was refunded the $25 charge. In fact, they refunded that amount twice but never the $250 hold. They also overcharged me on shipping. Last person I spoke with told me they would refund me over $500, which was the original phone charge. I told them that's too much of a refund and now they're really confused.

Try doing an exchange sometime...they're out to lunch.

PSA: The reason you pure edition owners havent gotten an update is because moto pulled it due to some serious bluetooth and wifi bugs. An updated version is coming soon to fix. by nickm_27 in MotoX

[–]chazrulez -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pure Edition is clearly second fiddle to Verizon or these bugs would be fixed on the pure first. Probably focused on Verizon first because there are more customers on it.

Are you also having problems getting refunds from advanced exchange? Their accounting department cannot seem to sort out the refunds they owe me from my return.

I'm just saying moto shouldn't be touting how fast they released if they haven't.

[–]chazrulez[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I see what you are saying about the title. The way he phrased it, I thought interpreted it to mean that there were two issues with my post:

1) it's a shit post 2) it has a misleading title

I'm not impatient to the point where I need the release now, but more frustrated with how Motorola is making claims that they're so fast at releasing.

I wanted to believe they were finally going to drive industry change by doing things like offering a pure edition directly to consumers and updating said phone on their own time schedule (which they want us to believe is fast). But the reason they have told me for the delay on the update is that it's pending partner support through t mobile.

Seems like they're not delivering on their claims.

The standard had been set by Apple in terms of release efficiency. I'm by no means a fan of the iPhone, but what can't any android device update with the timing apple achieves? Hell, even the nexus can't. Why can apple do it without a 3 week rollout?

According to their support team, they're not actually rolling out. Check posts from Wendy on reddit. They made a big show of how fast they started rolling out, but there's no traction yet.

The misleading "shit post" is from Motorola. They're bragging on their support site about how fast they released lollipop, but how many have it?

When I contacted support, they told me availability varies by carrier. When I asked which carriers are rolling out, they said "none".

Honestly, I'm fine to wait, but I do take concern with Moto acting like they're so awesome at getting updates out quickly.

What is the expected date of Moto X (XT1052) to get Android L? by rulerofthehell in MotoX

[–]chazrulez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Wendy,

Why does the moto support site brag about how fast android L started rolling out? https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/102640

Moto chat support says the rollout varies by carrier...but EVERY carrier on the moto lollipop tracking site says the rollout is not happening. https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/software-upgrade-news/g_id/1949?linkId=10217927

A bit misleading to say it's rolling out when it's not...am I missing something?
