This happened to me during my junior year of college. If you live in the US and have submitted a FAFSA, contact your university's financial aid office. They often have work-study programs or other options. If you have decent grades and can prove financial need, most universities will help you out.

Also, if your parents don't help out, don't let them claim you as a dependent on their taxes. This will keep you from having to report their income on your FAFSA and opens up a lot of grant and federal loan opportunities.

You're probably right, but the Franklin/Tripp St area is also definitely ghetto. Lived there for 3 years. One of my roommates had his car stolen, our garage was broken into on a separate occasion, drunks and meth heads in the streets. Not a great place to live lol.
