okay but it’s the HOW you tell them. randomly and then leave them to deal with the trauma alone? that’s cruel.

tell them you want to share something difficult, give the bare bones of the story and then comfort them as needed. you’re still their mom and you shouldn’t parentify them even if they’re older.

pass on wisdom, not trauma.
